One of the best things about shooting with a 35mm focal length is the huge flexibility it gives you to compose and frame your shot. It’s wide enough to capture scenes with a huge amount of detail, perfect for adding some context to your shot. Bright f/2.8 Aperture

Designed to provide more light in dark conditions and to help create a shallow depth-of-field, the lens has a maximum f/2.8 aperture. It can be closed to a minimum aperture of f/22 and has a 7 bladed circular diaphragm that can create 14-point starbursts when shooting point light sources.

Made for Mirrorless

The latest batch of Tamron lenses have been designed specifically for Sony full frame mirrorless cameras with full support for Direct Manual Focus (DMF), Fast Hybrid AF and Eye-AF. Not only that but they all play nice together because they have the same 67mm filter size and a similar weight.

Get Up Close and Personal

In the words of Robert Capa ‘If your pictures aren’t good enough, you’re not close enough.’, but luckily the lens has an impressively close focusing ability, which allows you to get as close as 15cm from your subject and still acquire focus. This creates a 2:1 magnification ration for a macro-like performance.

It has 9 elements arranged in 8 groups and uses a combination of low dispersion (LD) and glass-moulded aspherical (GM) elements to produce incredibly sharp results.

Lens Coating and Robust Build Quality

By using Tamron’s legendary Broad-Band Anti-Reflection (BBAR) coating, ghosting and flaring is greatly reduced, creating an image with enhanced sharpness and contrast in a range of lighting conditions. The lens boasts environmental seals at the mount to protect it from splash damage as week as a fluorine coating to protect against smudges, making it easier to keep clean.

Internal Focus and OSD Drive

Unlike other lenses you can adjust the focus on the 35mm lens without worrying that the length of the lens could be changing, which is especially important when shooting up close macro shots. Thanks to Tamron’s impressive optimised silent drive (OSD) motor system the lens delivers fast and accurate AF performance with greatly reduced operational sounds.
