An Advanced Feature Set

The world of studio lighting has seen great advancements in recent years and the Elinchrom ELC 500s are the perfect example of a modern flash system with advanced functions. These lights work in both TTL and manual modes and a manual lock function retains exposure settings to quickly change between modes. Great for quick adjustments or to explore a variety of creative effects. The unit also includes many features that you see in on-camera speedlites but with the advantages of a studio lighting setup. High Speed Sync allows for shooting at faster than standard sync speeds for action shooting, freezing motion or to balance ambient light and darken backgrounds.

Rather than use the older style globes as the modelling lamp, the Elinchrom 500s run a bright daylight balanced LED for good pre-visualisation and adaptability on the go. Lights can be set up on various channels and in groups for versatile set-ups. A handy light-up indicator on the side logo changes colour to identify which group it is in at a glance.

Strong, Compact & Portable

The lights can be powered down to just 7 Ws, a small amount of light for wider aperture use, enhancing depth of field or even just as a more subtle addition of light to a scene. Elinchrom's accurate and precise colour science, across the full power range, will deliver images with consistent coverage and colour. A must for people who are after professional results in camera with less post-production time. The two-way metal tilt head is strong enough to easily adjust, even larger modifiers, with precision. A centre mounted umbrella fitting maximises illumination and allows for easy modification of light tone, softness and shadows.

Flexibility

With a greatly increased power range from 7Ws all the way up to 522Ws, you have 7 stops of light to work with from subtle fill light to larger full-scene fillers. An intuitive interface gives you an efficient user experience with important information, such as flash duration, displayed. The addition of a custom favourite button can be set for quick access to your favourite feature.

The Smart Pro-Active Cooling works without interrupting your flow, learning your shooting style and adapting the cooling cycles to match. Light Modifiers & Accessories

As well as the ELC 500 Heads, included in this kit are all of the accessories needed to start shooting evocative images. The kit includes 2 light stands with handy carry-bags to keep it all together. In terms of modifiers you get the Dark Grey Elinchrom 16cm reflectors, the standard modifiers for general shooting. They throw the light forward in a wide pattern and offer a level of protection for the flash tube and modelling lamp. The 2 included Elinchrom 105cm Umbrellas are adjustable from Silver to White/Translucent - allowing you to reflect light into them or shoot light through them. This added functionality allows for more shooting options without having to bring extra modifiers. The Elinchrom light modifier system is world renowned ensuring plenty of options to suit your photographic style with a Quick-Lock Bayonet System for quick and easy switching . The included bags allow for easy pack down, transport and storage and in conjunction with the protection caps will keep your gear safe. If you get stuck the included user manual should get you out of trouble. Please note this kit does not include a Skyport Wireless Transmitter as you need to purchase one that suits your camera system. These are a recommended accessory.
