Advanced Optical Design

Fitted with two XA (Extreme Aspherical) lens elements and three aspherical elements, distortion, curvature and astigmatism are dramatically reduced. On top of this, two ED (Extra Dispersion) glass elements reduce colour distortion while an advanced nano AR (Anti Reflection) coating on optical surfaces to reduce flare and ghosting. With an enhanced floating focus mechanism for motion pictures, distortion at any shooting distance is extremely low, adding to the precision of each shoot.

Fast and Precise AF and AE

The lens supports the Enhanced Hybrid phase/contrast detection autofocus (AF) and Auto Exposure (AE) of the FX9 camera, which allows you to focus on framing a shot and the creative aspect of a shoot while the camera and lens work together to maintain focus on subjects with shallow depth of field.

Detachable Servo Zoom

The servo unit provides great fingertip control for seamless and gradual zooms, adding to the creative aspect of a shoot. Both servo and manual controls are switchable by a conveniently placed button on the lens, and when set to servo, you can control the zoom via the camera’s handle or grip zoom. Additionally, the servo is detachable if you want the lens to be lighter and more compact.

Aside from providing fantastic low-light shooting capabilities, the consistent T3.1 (f/2.8) aperture along with a circular 11-blade aperture offers a great shallow depth of field, allowing you to create smooth and seamless bokeh.
