The Sony FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G is a compact full-frame E-mount fisheye zoom lens designed for photographers and filmmakers looking to create bold, immersive perspectives. As Sony's first E-mount fisheye zoom lens, it delivers everything from a full-frame circular fisheye effect at 8mm to a frame-filling diagonal fisheye view at 14mm, giving creators impressive flexibility from a single lens.

8-14mm Fisheye Zoom with a 180° Angle of View

Covering an ultra-wide 8-14mm focal length range, the Sony FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G opens up a wide range of creative possibilities. At 8mm, it produces a distinctive circular fisheye image, while zooming to 14mm creates a dramatic diagonal fisheye perspective that fills the frame.

With an ultra-wide 180° angle of view, the lens is ideal for exaggerated landscapes, architecture, interiors, action sports, creative portraits, immersive video and specialised VR applications.

Outstanding G Lens Optical Performance

A sophisticated optical design incorporating ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass and aspherical lens elements helps maintain excellent resolution throughout the image while minimising chromatic aberration. Sony also uses an ED aspherical element to further optimise image quality and help reduce flare across the zoom range.

The constant F3.5 maximum aperture provides consistent exposure while zooming, while a 9-blade circular aperture helps produce smooth, natural-looking background blur when working at close distances.

Fast and Precise Autofocus for Stills and Video

A linear-motor focusing system delivers fast, accurate and quiet autofocus performance for both photography and filmmaking. The lens is designed to keep up with high-speed Sony Alpha cameras while providing smooth subject tracking during video recording.

Focus breathing is effectively suppressed to help maintain consistent framing during focus transitions, while Linear Response MF provides direct and intuitive manual focus control when precise adjustments are required.

Get Closer with 0.15m Minimum Focus

A remarkably short 0.15m minimum focusing distance and up to 0.22x maximum magnification allow photographers to move close to smaller subjects while retaining the dramatic spatial exaggeration of a fisheye lens. This makes it possible to create unusual close-up compositions with expansive backgrounds and strong depth.

Compact and Lightweight Full-Frame Design

Despite its specialised ultra-wide optical design, the Sony FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G weighs approximately 314g and measures just 63.1 x 82.8mm. Its compact dimensions make it easy to carry as part of a lightweight Sony Alpha kit and well suited to handheld shooting, gimbals and compact video rigs.

An internal zoom mechanism helps maintain consistent balance throughout the focal range, while a rear filter holder supports standard sheet filters.

Professional Manual Controls

Dedicated focus, zoom and aperture rings provide direct control over key shooting settings. A zoom lock system can lock the lens at preset focal lengths for repeatable framing, while the focus mode switch provides quick access to AF, MF and Focus Hold operation.

The aperture ring also includes click ON/OFF control, making smooth, stepless aperture adjustments possible when shooting video.

Designed for Outdoor and Professional Use

A dust and moisture-resistant design improves reliability when working in challenging environments, while a fluorine coating on the front element helps prevent dust, moisture, oil and other contaminants from adhering to the lens surface and makes cleaning easier.

Ideal for Immersive and 3D VR Production

The compact 63.1mm lens diameter also makes the FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G suitable for specialised 3D and VR production. In compatible dual-camera configurations, two lenses can be positioned at approximately normal human interpupillary distance to create natural spatial reproduction and immersive depth.
