The Nikon SB-500 is the perfect accessory for beginner photographers looking to take the next step in their creative journey. Its innovative design combines a versatile swivel head flash for stills photography and a bright 3 LED light for use while shooting video.

With its guide number of 24/78.7 (23°C/73.4°F, ISO 100, m/ft), the SB500 offers great portability and convenience making it ideal for adding light to your subject when shooting at close distances.

Its swivel flash head can be tilted up 90° and rotated horizontally up to 180° to the left and right, equipping you with the ability to experiment with bounce flash photography. Reflect the flash off a ceiling or wall to achieve lighting effects such as soft, subtle light or moody shadows.

Three bright LED lights at the front of the flash provide constant illumination and can be used as a camera light when shooting video or to provide additional exposure flexibility when photographing macro style up-close subjects. The LED lights can be set to one of three brightness levels and can be used in conjunction with a diffusion panel for superior lighting control and exposure flexibility.

Compatible with the Nikon Creative Lighting System* (CLS), the Nikon SB-500 relies on only two AA batteries and works as a master or remote flash unit which can be used in conjunction with existing speedlights or wireless flash triggers to create a multi-flash lighting kit.

*AF-assist illumination for multi-point AF is not supported.
