Fujifilm X-H2S

Get ready to have your mind blown! The new Fujifilm X-H2S is a serious hybrid camera that produces spectacular videos and stills. With a new 26.16MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HS Sensor and an X-Processor 5 to match, the camera's autofocus operates with lightning precision, so you get the best professional sports and wildlife photos or cinematic movies. If that is not enough, the Japanese brand has added an all-new five-axis in-body image stabilisation mechanism, which offers up to a 7-stop advantage!

The X-H2S is the new flagship model boasting the highest performance of any X Series camera to date. This has been made possible by the new stacked-layer back-illuminated 26.16MP "X-Trans CMOS 5 HS" sensor, capable of reading signals four times faster than the previous model, and the high-speed "X-Processor 5" boasting double the processing speed of the previous model.

The X-H2S features an evolved AF system to enable continuous high-speed shooting up to 40 frames per second, a newly-developed subject-recognition AF technology, and the capability to record 6.2K/30P and 4K/120P video. Other features include the five-axis in-body image stabilisation that offers up to a 7.0- stop advantage highly-robust magnesium body, hardware that incorporates operability improved from the previous model, as well as extensive interface options, including the new slot for a CFexpress Type B card and an optional file transmitter (sold separately). The new camera caters to the diverse photographic needs of professional photographers and videographers in categories including sports photography, bird photography and other on-location work.

New Sensor: X-Trans CMOS 5 HS

This 26.16MP image sensor inherits the previous model's back-illumination style and adopts the stacked-layer structure to become the first stacked APS-C sensor capable of quadrupling the read signal speed compared to the current model. It has dramatically improved performance, including up-to-40fps blackout-free burst mode and a significantly better AF rate during continuous shooting. As for video performance, the sensor can record 4K/60P video without cropping and with a substantially reduced rolling-shutter effect.

New X-Processor 5

The all-new processor has double the processing speed of the previous model. It has improved image quality at low ISO and reduced noise at high sensitivity in stills while delivering significantly improved AF accuracy and speed. The processor also enables subject detection and AF tracking of a targeted subject with increased accuracy. In the video, the processor enables filming 4:2:2 10bit video at 6.2K/30P and 4K/120P and supports a variety of codecs, including Apple ProRes 422. It also has lower power consumption, extending the maximum video recording time and supports a CFexpress Type B memory card.

The X-H2S makes full use of the capability of the fifth-generation sensor and processor to achieve a substantial performance improvement.

Major boost to the burst mode capability: The camera can apply AF/ AE tracking in the blackout-free continuous shooting of up to 40 frames per second and can shoot over 1,000 frames continuously when setting the high-speed burst shooting mode to 30 frames per second (JPEG) or 20 frames per second (RAW).

Dramatically Evolved AF Performance

The increased number of AF calculations performed per second has improved AF accuracy, provides a subject-recognition AF function, and improves the prediction algorithm to dramatically improve Zone AF and the capability to track a moving subject under a low-contrast environment.

Improved video performance

The camera supports recording 4:2:2 10bit video at 6.2K/30P and 4K/120P internally. During video recording, the sensor's readout speed has been improved to 1/180 seconds, suppressing the rolling shutter effect. It supports three Apple ProRes codecs; ProRes 422 HO, ProRes 422, and ProRes 422 LT. When recording ProRes, X-H2S also supports proxy recording such as ProRes 422 Proxy. Another new feature is F-Log2 capability, with a dynamic range expanded to 14+ stops, enabling much smoother tonal expression.

Stand Out Features

The camera is equipped with a back-illuminated stacked-layer 26.16MP "X-Trans CMOS 5 HS" sensor, the 5th generation of X Series' image sensors. It has a signal readout speed about four times faster than the current model' 9 to achieve blackout-free continuous shooting of up to 40 frames per second. The camera controls phase-detection pixels independently from the image display during the burst mode. This triples the number of calculations in phase-detection information from the current model 9 and enables high-speed focusing even during high-speed continuous shooting of 40 frames per second, thereby significantly improving AF accuracy in the burst mode.

The use of the new sensor and the processor is coupled with an increased built-in memory buffer capacity to dramatically increase the number of frames that can be continuously recorded in the burst mode. When using the electronic shutter, the camera can shoot over 1,000 frames continuously at up to 30fps in JPEG and 20fps in RAW.

The EVF uses a high-resolution 5.76-million-dot OLED panel with a magnification of 0.8x. The smooth viewfinder with a frame rate of approx. 120fps also offers improved visibility thanks to the strong suppression of distortion that can occur when an eye position becomes displaced while using the viewfinder, thereby enabling accurate tracking of subject movements.

Substantially evolved AF performance with the use of new devices and enhanced algorithms The new devices and improved prediction algorithms for AF have led to a major boost in the camera's capability to track a moving subject and autofocus accurately in Zone AF or in low-contrast conditions. This means a continuously moving subject can be accurately tracked, an ideal feature for sports and wildlife photography.

The new image processor features a subject-detection AF function, developed with Deep Learning technology. It detects and automatically tracks the human face /eyes and animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, aeroplanes and trains to maintain autofocus. Users can concentrate on photographic opportunities and framing, as the camera can constantly keep a targeted subject in focus.

New Five-axis In-body Image Stabilisation

The camera features an all-new five-axis in-body image stabilisation mechanism, which offers up to a 7-stop advantage thanks to the new processor and a new sensing control function. Users can comfortably choose to handhold the camera to shoot active situations such as sports or low light conditions.

The new camera inherits the popular design features of the X-H1, such as a large grip that works well with large lenses, an LCD display on the top panel for users to check settings at any time, and a highly robust camera body that withstands heavy professional use.

XF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 R LM OIS WR Lens

The FUJINON XF70-300mmF4-5.6 R LM OIS WR Lens is a compact and lightweight telephoto zoom lens. This interchangeable lens is weather resistant and suits the Fujifilm X Series range of digital cameras.

Large Zoom Range in a Compact Design

The Fuji XF 70-300mm is a lightweight lens that offers a large zoom range from 70 to 300mm. This is an excellent choice for sports and wildlife photographers and those wanting a generally larger zoom range for distant subjects. It is a nice compliment to a standard wide zoom, such as the XF16-80mmF4, which in addition to this lens covers you from wide to telephoto. In terms of a 35mm equivalent, it is 107mm to 457mm on the APS-C Sensor. All of this is in a lightweight (0.58Kg) and compact (13.25cm long) package.

The 17 lens elements in 12 groups include 1 aspherical element and 2 ED elements for great image quality.

Teleconverter Compatibility

The Fujifilm 70-300mm OIS WR will work with the Fuji teleconverters, the FujinonXF1.4X TC WR and Fujinon XF2X TC WR, for a 35mm equivalent focal length up to 914mm. Only 2 stops of light is lost when used with the XF2X TC WR or just under 2 stops with the XF1.4X TC WR.

Phase detection AF operates with either of these configurations with no reduction in performance.

5.5 Stop Optical Image Stabilisation

A powerful 5.5-stops of OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) greatly affects camera shake, even at the larger end of the zoom. This gives you better results when zoomed in and in lower light settings. This OIS will work in conjunction with In-Body Image Stabilisation (IBIS) systems on Fuji cameras such as the X-T4 and X-S10, adding 5-axis stabilisation and reducing linear shift shake.

Quiet, Quick & Close Up

Fast and near-silent AF is achieved with the use of a linear drive motor system. This system fully leverages the AF system in the Fujifilm X Series line-up.

A minimum focus distance of 83cm with a magnification of 0.33x, can be taken advantage of for dynamic close-up photography. This is perfect for smaller objects such as bugs, flowers and other macro subjects. When used in conjunction with an XF2X TC WR teleconverter magnification is extended to 0.66x, equivalent to 1:1 magnification on a 35mm sensor.

Weather-resistant seals on 10 locations on the lens barrel give a level of protection from moisture and dust while allowing you to use the lens at temperatures down to -10°C.
