Canon's first VR imaging lens

The Canon RF 5.2mm f/2.8 L Dual Fisheye lens is the world's first 180-degree VR lens for digital interchangeable lens cameras. The RF 5.2mm f/2.8 offers 180-degree VR photography on a single sensor in one camera. With an additional software update, the lens can shoot up to 8K video and 45MP photos on a full-frame sensor when mounted to the EOS R5.

*The Canon EOS R5 (currently the only compatible camera) will need a firmware update to be compatible.

High-efficiency VR image recording

The RF 5.2mm f/2.8 L Dual Fisheye lens can be used to create Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Mixed Reality content. A 3D image can be produced because the lens catches a greater line of sight from two different angles.

Capture 8K 3D VR on the EOS R5

The Canon RF 5.2mm f/2.8 L Dual Fisheye lens captures a 3D stereoscopic image when used with the compatible EOS R5, making it ideal for use with head-mounted Virtual Reality goggles that span the complete field of view to create an interactive experience within the setting.

*The captured resolution per lens will be slightly less than 4K due to the two image circles being placed side by side on the sensor. When combined this produces an 8K quality file.

The Canon RF 5.2mm f/2.8 L Dual Fisheye lens's big f/2.8 aperture is ideal for photography in low-light situations, and it integrates seamlessly with its high-quality L series design to ensure a clear and vibrant image.

Streamlined 180˚  VR workflow

Along with the Canon RF 5.2mm f/2.8L Dual Fisheye lens, Canon's EOS VR System features a newly created Canon VR Utility application and a VR Plug-in for Adobe® Premiere® Pro to ease the 180° VR post-production process, boosting video producers' experience from input to output.

*Canon's EOS VR Utility or EOS VR Plug-in for Adobe® Premiere® Pro are required to perform the equirectangular conversion of recorded 180° VR images from a compatible camera (EOS R5).
