Canon EU-V1 Overview

The Canon EU-V1 Expansion Unit 1 is designed to mount onto your C500 Mark II camera, expanding its connectivity and capabilities. With three ports - Genlock/Sync Out, Remote B (RS-422) and Ethernet - you can slave your camera to the same time base as other equipment, feed other live production equipment to sync with your camera, control your camera using RS-422 protocol and connect your camera to a LAN for control and live streaming applications. Plus, each port has a rubber cover to protect the connectors from dust intrusion when not in use.

Genlock is the backbone of live/broadcast production as it ensures that all the production equipment, cameras, and switchers, are running in phase with each other. This prevents jumping images or black frames when switching between sources.
