Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Series Lens

The Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Series lens is the world's first lens to combine an ultra-wide focal length of 14mm with a super bright f/1.8 aperture, making it ideal for astro-photographers and low-light street shooters. This lens features 16 elements arranged in 11 groups, using a range of special lens elements and a large aspherical front element to give you pin-sharp results with a dramatic wide angle perspective. It's compatible with both Full Frame and APS-C cameras.

Ultra-Wide Angle Shooting

The 14mm focal length of the sigma allows the composition of unique wide angle images that can combine many photographic elements in the same frame. It is perfectly suited for landscape, street photography and photo journalism shooting styles and can create some eye-catching creative shots.

Bright f/1.8 Aperture

The Sigma lens is the world first 14mm design with the uniquely fast aperture of f/1.8, perfect for shooting with quick shutter speeds and in darker light conditions. The combination of bright aperture with ultra-wide perspective make the lens well suited for shooting in low light situations like astro or nightscape photography.

Fast HSM Autofocus System

Using a large hypersonic motor (HSM) that drives the focus elements inside the lens, allows the sigma 14mm to deliver accurate autofocus performance with enhanced speed and smooth operation. The updated autofocus algorithm ensures the optimal focusing abilities of the lens while a full-time manual override allows the lens to be easily manually adjusted by simply turning the focus ring.

High End Optical Performance

Professional shooters demand the best optical quality from their gear and the construction of the 14mm f/1.8 lens delivers, with 16 high end elements arranged in 11 groups for outstanding image quality and edge-to-edge sharpness. The lens uses three FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) elements and four SLD (Super Low Dispersion) elements which dramatically reduce chromatic aberrations that traditionally occur when shooting super-wide angle lenses.

80mm Aspherical Front Element

The front element of the ultra-wide angle is a massive 80mm precision moulded aspherical element, similar to the Sigma 12-24 f/4 lens, that minimises both barrel and pin cushion distortion for incredible straight vertical lines.

Stunning 9-Bladed Circular Aperture

The 9 bladed f/1.8 aperture capability of the lens allows you to incorporate incredibly shallow depth of field into your compositions, so you can easily separate your subject from the background. The circular aperture design of the 9 aperture blades creates a beautiful bokeh rendition in out-of-focus parts of your shot.

Super Multi-Layer Lens Coating

By utilising an advanced coating on the lens elements sigma have managed to significantly reduce flaring and image ghosting with the lens. Designed to assist when shooting in backlit shooting situations the lens coating works together with the tried and tested optical design to produce sharp high-contrast images in the most demanding situations.

Solid Durable Construction

The lens has been manufactured from a thermally stable composite material, and features a rugged brass bayonet mount for improved strength. A dust a splash-proof construction around the lens mount gives you the confidence to shoot in a range of conditions and a water and oil repellent coating helps protect the front element.

Nikon Mount Supports Electromagnetic Diaphragm

The Nikon mount version of the lens includes an electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism so it can take advantage of precision diaphragm control and better auto exposure performance with newer Nikon camera models.

Compatible with Sigma Accessories and Adapters

The Sigma 14 mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens supports customisation and fine adjustments with the Sigma USB dock and can be modified with the Sigma Optimisation Pro software. It is compatible with Sigma’s MC-11 which allows the use of Sigma EOS and SA mount lenses with Sony E-Mount Cameras.
