The Zoom XYH-6 is an X/Y Microphone Capsule designed for use with Zoom's H5 and H6 Field Recorders, featuring two matched unidirectional microphone elements arranged in an adjustable X/Y pattern with angles between 90 and 120 degrees. This configuration captures sound in a cardioid polar pattern, making it highly sensitive to sounds in front of the recorder while minimising noise from the sides and rear. The XY pattern enhances mono playback, creating a fuller sound than a single microphone element would. This capsule is perfect for a variety of applications, including studio recordings, live performances, rehearsals, and TV broadcasts.
