The Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Summilux 25-50mm f/1.7 ASPH (H-X2550)

This telephoto zoom digital interchangeable lens from Panasonic is designed for photographers, videographers and G Series enthusiasts. With its versatile focal range and constant F1.7 aperture, you can add a cinematic depth-of-field to your work, taking it to the next level. This Panasonic 25-50mm f/1.7 lens is ideal for both photographic and cinematic applications, such as interviews and documentaries.

Amazing Versatility in a Videographer’s Kit

This new Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Summilux 25-50mm / F1.7 ASPH is created to complement the current Leica DG Vario-Summilux 10-25mm F1.7 ASPH Lens. These two lenses cover a focal distance from wide-angle to telephoto and are the equivalent of eight prime lenses when used together. It boasts a large F1.7 aperture throughout the entire 50-100mm zoom range with exceptionally high optical performance clearing the stringent LEICA standards. With gorgeous bokeh and a common aperture, great descriptive performance, shape, and operability, it provides incredible adaptability in a videographer's gear.

Remarkable Optical Design

The lens system employs 16 elements in 11 groups, with an aspherical lens and three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses that suppress axial and magnification chromatic aberration as well as spherical aberration and distortion. The utilisation of aspherical lenses, as well as the lens system's optimal design, results in a lens with astoundingly high resolution in a tiny, lightweight package.

Precise and Fast Autofocusing

The Leica 25-50mm f1.7 lens is compatible with the LUMIX G sensor drive at 240fps enabling the user to take advantage of the high-precision, high-speed autofocusing. The inner focus drive mechanism allows for completely silent operation. The camera can smoothly catch up to brightness fluctuations while zooming or panning thanks to a step-less aperture ring and a micro-step drive mechanism in the aperture control system.

Outstanding Barycentric Stability

The optical design delivers remarkable barycentric stability to reduce picture shifts when zooming, and a focus ring with linear/non-linear settings allows for intuitive, precise focusing. With a system that prevents focus breathing across the zoom range, the 25-50mm f1.7 shines in video recording.

Robust Design with Macro Capability

For better macro photography, the Panasonic 25-50mm f1.7 lens has a minimum focusing distance of 0.28m (at the wide end, 0.31m at the end) and a maximum magnification ratio of 0.42x (35mm camera equivalent). The lens is dust and splash resistant, and it can withstand temperatures as low as -10° Celsius.
