True Colour Linear Polarizing Filter

The NiSi Cinema 4x4" True Colour Linear Polarizing Filter is designed to reduce glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces, increase saturation and vibrancy in the sky and foliage, and ensure true colour reproduction is at its best. Our True Colour PL eliminates the warm tone seen with other brands of polarising filters, providing a closer true colour representation of the scene. NiSi's Cinema 4x4"True Colour Linear Polarizing Filter also utilises Cine seal technology, which blackens the edge of the glass for added durability, reducing the influence of temperature fluctuations and keeping out condensation.

Polarizing Filters help to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. The light from the sun naturally becomes partially polarized due to reflecting off electrons in air molecules, causing the light to scatter into what appears as haze. A polarizing filter arranges, and filters, this directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light, allowing for the absorption of much of this light. This results in a noticeable reduction of glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces and an increase in the saturation of skies, and foliage, and allows the camera to capture what is under the surface of shallow water.

The Nisi 4x4" Range is compatible with all leading brands of matte boxes that fit the 4x4" standard. The cinema filters also conform to the 4mm thickness allowing them to fit into filter cages or slot into cageless designs. A leatherette pouch is included for storage and transport.
