The Z Cam E2 Cinema Camera looks to disrupt the cinematic market with its budget 4K Micro Four Thirds mount camera. Its 4K DCI/UHD recording capability at up to 120fps and 240fps in Full HD hints that this is a camera with the image quality, speed, connectivity and reliability that professional cinematographers, production houses, media agencies and film/art schools are looking for.

The E2’s 10-bit colour support and 13 stops of dynamic range using the Z-Log2 profile offers incredible post-processing and colour grading versatility. Delivering excellent tonal gradations and colour accuracy ensures your clips can be withstand aggressive colour grading while limiting deterioration. Additionally, a Wide Dynamic Range mode can be utilised to further increase your dynamic range to an amazing 16 stops.

Triple Native ISO Imaging Circuitry

A triple native ISO of 80, 160 and 800 means you can adjust your exposure from extremely bright scenes to darker scenes while maintaining an excellent signal-to-noise ratio. The end result is noticeably less noise, especially when shooting wide open, across a range of scenarios for maximum image quality.

Apple ProRes 4:2:2 10-Bit Certified

Designed to make integration easy, the Z Cam E2 Apple ProRes certified, recording in 422 10-bit, or H.264 and H.265 codecs for efficient storage utilisation and maximum compatibility with your existing editing workflow.

CFast 2.0 Compatibility

Its ultra-fast 4K@120fps and 1080p@240fps recording is made possible thanks to the inclusion of a CFast 2.0 slot for storage. The convenience of CFast 2.0 over SSD storage allows you to easily swap out cards during a shoot for import or backup, or simply swap another card when you run out of memory.

No Recording Time Limit

With no recording time-limit, the E2 can record to the capacity of your media storage, adding peace of mind for single shot scenarios such as event coverage of conferences, concerts, keynotes, panel discussions and more. A USB-C port can be used for connecting an external SSD to make your workflow from shooting to editing even more convenient.

USB-C Interface

The USB-C interface can also be utilised for live view can camera control using a compatible Apple iOS device and the Z-Camera app installed. The app also works via Wi-Fi, allowing you to wirelessly control camera settings and stop/start recording remotely.

HDMI 2.0 Interface

Video output is supported via a HDMI 2.0 interface, delivering a maximum DCI 4K@60 fps, 10-bit colour, YUV 422 for native monitoring or output to an external recorder.

The E2 also supports multi-cam synchronisation. A built-in 10-pin LEMO port enables you to daisy chain up to 100 devices for pixel level multi-camera sync, facilitating complicated multi-angle setups with ease.
