The RØDE VideoMic is a professional grade shotgun microphone. Based on the latest 'Film industry' technology, the VideoMic is designed specifically for use with high quality Digital Video Cameras.

The microphone exhibits low noise and an unusually wide bandwidth for its size. It is ultra lightweight, yet rugged due to its ABS construction. The VideoMic is powered by a standard 9V battery and offers a Low Battery LED status indicator and a switchable high pass filter to reduce unwanted low frequency rumble.

The VideoMic attaches to any Camcorder that has the standard (non-Sony) camera-shoe fitting via an integrated Lyre suspension mount by Rycote. The state-of-the-art mount isolates the microphone from unwanted noise caused by knocks and bumps. Made from hard-wearing thermoplastic, the Lyre system will never wear out, sag or snap. If the camera doesn’t have its own accessory shoe, alternative options such as a tripod mount accessory bracket with integrated accessory shoe are available (sold separately). For ease of use and convenience, the Rode VideoMic utilizes a stereo mini jack for audio output.
