The Hasselblad X1D II 50C is the highly anticipated follow up to the award winning X1D 50C which made its debut as the world’s first medium format mirrorless camera back in 2016. Hasselblad enjoy the well-earned reputation of being dedicated to image quality and colour rendering at the highest level, a prestige matched only by their commitment to product design. The X1D Mark II pays homage to the original, while introducing a distinctively modern graphite finish. With a high-resolution OLED viewfinder and massive 3.6-inch touchscreen, the new model continues the legacy of the X1D series while ensuring Hasselblad remain on the cutting-edge of imaging technology and innovation.

Monumental 50-Megapixel Medium Format Sensor

At the core of the X1DII is a colossal 50-megapixel CMOS sensor that measures a sizable 43.8 x 32.9mm, 1.7 times larger than a full-frame camera. This incredible sensor captures up to 14-stops of dynamic range in a 16-Bit 3FR RAW format, with enhanced editing flexibility. Skin tones and vibrant colours are faithfully rendered using Hasselblad’s Natural Colour Solution (HNCS) system, making the camera well suited for high-end fashion and commercial applications where true-to-life tonal reproduction is essential.

Handcrafted in Sweden

It should come as no surprise that Hasselblad originate from Sweden, especially when you consider the stunning minimalist Scandinavian style of the X1DII. Weighing only 766g, including the battery and SD card, the design of the camera is quite simply, a work of art. The X1D II gracefully blends new and old-world design with a machined aluminium construction and a graphite finish that create a timeless and yet distinctively modern look.

Improved Ultra-High-Resolution OLED Viewfinder

The functionality of the X1D 2 has been enhanced with cutting-edge technologies, based on feedback from industry professionals. The camera now boasts a 3.69 Million-Dot OLED electronic viewfinder with a massive 0.83x magnification and a 60fps refresh rate. The OLED EVF can be used to compose your shot, playback images or access the camera menu, perfect for bright daylight conditions.

Faster User Interface

As suggested by working photographers, Hasselblad have dedicated more processing power to the intuitive menu and interface system of the X1D2. This allows the camera to power on faster and provides a significant improvement to autofocus and reduced blackout time between frames for a smoother shooting experience.

Large 3.6-inch OLED Touchscreen

The X1D has a large 3.6-inch touchscreen with 2.36 Million-dots that is sharper than previous models. It uses Organic LED technology for significantly brighter playback with accurate colouring. Hasselblad have continued to develop their intuitive control interface, with support for pinch to zoom and swipe gestures in playback, as well as point and drag functionality, for quick position or resizing of autofocus points.

Flash Sync Speed up to 1/2000s

Because of a leaf shutter design utilised by the entire XCD Hasselblad range of lenses, the X1D II supports ultra-fast sync speeds up to a blistering 1/2000s, perfect for high-speed sync photography to freeze ultra-fast motion with complete creative control.

Supports XCD, HC/HCD Lenses and Adapters

Compatible with the entire XCD range of lenses, the X1D Mark II also supports the XH adapter that allows the use of HC/HCD lenses as well as the H 1.7x Teleconverter. A wide range of shutter speeds are available, depending on the lens mounted. XCD lenses shoot as fast as 1/2000 and as slow 68 minutes, to capture extreme long exposures as well as fast moving subjects. With a HC/HCD lens attached the camera can shoot from 1/800s to 1/2000s, but when using the electronic shutter, a range of 1/10000s to 68 minutes can be utilised.

UHS-II Slots, USB-C, Wi-Fi and GPS

The Hasselblad X1D II 50C Medium Format Mirrorless Camera is ideal for professional studio and portrait photography, with dual high-speed UHS-II card slots for data protection, as well as a USB-C port for tethered shooting with the Phocus desktop software. The lightweight construction of the system combined with the built-in GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity for remote control and image transfer using a smartphone make the X1D Mark II a great choice for travel and landscape photographers.
