The Sigma 70mm f/2.8 DG Macro Art Lens offers outdoor photographers consistently fast and precise performance. Offering a 70mm fixed focus length, magnification goes up to a true macro 1:1. A large maximum aperture of f2.8 ensures bright imagery while the 9-bladed rounded diaphragm produces a smooth bokeh effect. Using the full time manual override, you can make minute adjustments to the fast AF. The optical build minimises chromatic aberration while the sturdy construction and rubber sealing makes this the perfect lens for travel macro photographers.

70mm Prime Focal Length

Perfect for botanical and nature photographers, the 70mm focal length allows you to intimately frame small subjects at a short telephoto distance. Built for full-frame sensors, APS-C camera photographers can also use the Sigma 70mm for a 105mm equivalent focal length.

1:1 Maximum Magnification

Macro photographers will appreciate the 1:1 reproduction ratio for capturing minute detail in close-up shots. The lens’ focussing scale, shown in metres and feet, also features a handy magnification ratio scale, making it easy to zoom and adjust with precision.

Bright f/2.8 Maximum Aperture

Make your subjects pop from their background thanks to the large F2.8 maximum aperture. Producing bright photos with a large depth of field, the wide aperture is paired with a 9-bladed rounded diaphragm to create a lovely bokeh effect in the out-of-focus areas.

Focus-By-Wire Focussing System

Streamlining the focussing mechanics, the lens is equipped with a focus-by-wire system and algorithm for reliability and comfort. Combined with the coreless DC motor, the autofocus is fast, quiet and precise, great for freezing action.

Full Time Manual Focus

Take complete creative control thanks to the manual focus override. Simply rotate the large, ergonomic focus right to make subtle adjustments to the autofocus.

Performance Based Optical Design

Built using 13 elements in 10 groups, the Macro Art lens includes aspherical, ELD, SLD and FLD elements to ensure both spectrums of chromatic aberration are accounted for. Thanks to the resulting high light transmission, this produces images with accurate colour and sharp details.

FLD and SLD Glass Elements

Equipped with two Special Low Dispersion elements and one element boasting a high rate of anomalous partial dispersion, the lens minimises longitudinal chromatic fringing even at the maximum focal length. Two Sigma F Low Dispersion glass elements then further correct residual secondary chromatic aberration for beautiful colour reproduction.

Super Multi-Layer Coating

Have confidence to shoot facing bright daylight thanks to the super multi-layer coating. Applied to the glass elements, ghosting and flares are reduced for high contrast imagery.

Robust Construction

Engineered from a combination of sturdy metals and Thermally Stable Composite (TSC), the Sigma 70 mm F2.8 DG Macro Art Lens performs consistently across a wide range of temperature changes. A rubber sealing along the rugged brass bayonet mount also offers dust and splash resistance, perfect for adventure and travel photographers.
