A switch on the unit allows for quick switching between 'Wide' and 'Far' subject distances. The 'Wide' Setting is perfect for close and medium miking working as a standard cardioid condenser that blocks out audio coming from the rear and sides. The 'Far' Setting narrows the field further, working as a supercardioid, focusing on sound at a distance for even greater directionality. This will further cut general ambient noise like traffic, people talking off to the side and airconditioners.

Designed for Cameras

With the included camera shoe mount and permanently attached 3.5mm cable microphone cable the Audio Technica 6550x has been designed specifically for use on your camera.

You can also attach it to the included microphone stand clamp for added versatility. There is a foam windshield for outdoor use and an included AA battery.
