The Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 G2 Lens is the successor of the popular 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD (Model A036) zoom lens, which has been highly praised around the world. This new lens features a redesigned optical construction to improve imaging performance, and is compatible with the latest digital cameras that offer increased resolution, while still keeping the same compact size as its predecessor.

Tamron's VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism is used for the AF drive, allowing for faster autofocus and more precision. The Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 G2 Lens features advanced close-up shooting capability with a MOD (Minimum Object Distance) of 0.18m at the wide end and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7. In addition, it has a redesigned design that aims to improve operability and ergonomic feel.
