The Sony RX100 III is an exceptional compact point-and-shoot. Its outstanding image quality and exceptional shooting versatility push the boundaries of what is possible from a true pocket-sized digital camera.

With an established cult-following as the ideal secondary camera amongst serious enthusiast and professional photographers, the innovation and improvements with the RX100 Mk3 is sure to only further cement its reputation.

20.1 Megapixel Sensor

Vivid, high-detail images are captured via a 1-inch 20.1 Megapixel Exmor R CMOS Sensor. Boasting a capture area almost four times the size of a regular point-and-shoot, the sensor ensures rich colours and true-to-life detail across a broad range of photographic scenarios. The Backside Illuminated (BSI) design excels in low-light scenarios, producing low-noise results across throughout its generous ISO25600 range.

Full HD Video Capabilities

An updated BIONZ X image processor is three times as powerful as its predecessor and is the same as that found on the critically acclaimed A7r full frame camera. This power delivers Full HD video recording encoded at up to 50Mbps for superior detail and maximum versatility in post-production. A maximum 120fps frame rate at 720p can be utilised to record super-smooth 5x slow motion and help take your movies to the next level.

Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar

Shooting versatility is delivered via an improved Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* lens. It features a 24-70mm focal range and a maximum f/1.8-2.8 aperture to equip you with enough flexibility to tackle a wide variety of shooting scenarios. The lens construction features an astonishing 9 aspherical lenses including 3 ultra-thin aspherical lenses to provide superior edge-to-edge sharpness. A 3-step ND filter is also built into the lens to complement the bright aperture and allow you to capture artistic photos and videos with a shallow depth of field without the risk of over exposure.

Electronic Viewfinder

A high resolution retractable electronic viewfinder (EVF) has been implemented in the MkIII version to provide you with improved composition accuracy when shooting in bright or difficult lighting conditions and delivers better accuracy when critical focus is required. It features a bright 1.4 million-dot OLED panel with a ZEISS T* coating and an automatic eye sensor to ensure convenient automatic switching when moving between the viewfinder and screen. The innovative pop-up design ensures portability and ergonomics are not compromised by sitting flush with the camera body when not in use.

3-Inch LCD Screen

An improved 3-inch 1.2 million-dot Xtra Fine TFT LCD screen complements the EVF with its articulating design. Capable of tilting 45° downwards and 180° upwards, the screen makes it a breeze to take the perfect ‘selfie’ or capture new and unique high and low angles.

Wi-Fi and NFC Connectivity

Built-in WiFi and NFC connectivity in conjunction with Sony’s free PlayMemories Camera App allows your compatible smartphone or tablet to quickly connect to the camera for instant photo sharing with your friends, family and favourite social networks.

Note: Recording movies in XAVC S format requires one of the following memory cards:

SDXC memory card with a capacity of at least 64 GB (Class 10 or faster)
UHS-I compatible SDXC memory card with a capacity of at least 64 GB
Memory Stick XC-HG Duo
