Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 G Master Lens

The Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 G Master Lens is a large-aperture medium telephoto prime that utilises Sony's cutting-edge optical technology to deliver stunningly sharp results. The ultra-bright f/1.8 aperture makes this lens perfect for shooting in low-light conditions, producing images with a gorgeous soft bokeh, ideal for portraiture, fashion and event photography. As part of the G-Master series, the 135mm FE lens is designed with an incredibly high level of detail and a strong focus on optical performance.

Medium Telephoto Prime Lens

The 135mm focal length suits portraits, fashion and event photographer with a flattering compression that combined with the lenses wide-aperture renders the out-of-focus areas with a creamy bokeh blur while keeping the focus point pin-sharp.

Bright 11-Bladed f/1.8 Aperture

A wide f/1.8 aperture improves light transmission for brighter results, great for shooting indoor sports or covering events with unpredictable lighting. When wide open, the 11-bladed circular aperture creates exquisite bokeh with an ultra-narrow depth of field to unlock your creativity.

Class Leading G-Master Series

Sony’s G-Master series are meticulously designed with their staunch commitment to create a line-up of lenses with supreme optical performance, and the FE 135mm f/1.8G Master is no exception. It boasts 13 lens elements arranged with careful precision in 10 groups.

Cutting Edge Image Performance

The lens uses Super ED (extra-low dispersion) elements, ED elements, and an XA (extreme aspherical) element to correct aberrations and maintain the edge-to-edge resolution required for high megapixel sensors.

Precision Nano AR Coating

A Nano AR coating applied on elements of the lens effectively supresses reflections, producing images with improved contrast as well as dramatically reduced flaring and ghosting. Not only does this coating deliver images with better clarity, but the coating also improves the transmission of light for brighter results.

Dual Floating XD Linear AF Motors

Two XD (Extreme Dynamic) linear motors can drive large lens element groups to deliver highly accurate autofocus performance that is quiet but most importantly lightning fast. The floating mechanism improves the close-up focusing ability of the lens, equipping the lens with a minimum focus distance of just 70cm.

Improved Handling and Ergonomics

During the design process, Sony considered exactly what professionals need which is why the lens has two customisable focus hold buttons on the side and top of the lens, positioned for either horizontal or vertical shooters. The MF/AF mode switch, a focus range limiter and an aperture ring that can be de-clicked with the flick on a button, provide further control options for both stills and video shooters.

Magnesium Alloy Construction

The Sony 135 FE f/1.8 G Master is constructed from a robust magnesium alloy that is not only light but sturdy. A fluorine coating on the front element repels grease and oil making it easier to clean which, in conjunction with a dust a moisture resistant design ensures you can be confident shooting even in challenging conditions.
