Take your photography to the next level with these Optional Accessories:
The Sigma 135mm f/1.8 Art series lens is designed for high-resolution optical performance, with a bright f/1.8 aperture, large HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) for lightning quick autofocus and a splash/dust proof construction it is a perfect addition for professional photographers. It has a 9-blade rounded diaphragm that creates impressively smooth bokeh and an advanced optical construction that delivers sharp results making it a perfect match for portrait and wedding photographers with 50-megapixel and above resolution demands.
135mm Telephoto Prime
The 135mm focal length of the lens creates a strong perspective compression that can make your subjects separate clearly from the background. This extreme three-dimensional quality is ideal for visual storytelling and can provide a whole new creative approach for your photography. It is compatible with Full-frame and APS-C cameras.
Ultra-Fast F/1.8 Aperture
The extra brightness provided by the lenses fast f/1.8 aperture make it perfect for low-light photography at live music gigs or indoor sports events and can allow you to shoot with the fast shutter speeds required to catch fleeting moments. The wide aperture works with the focal length to create a super-shallow depth of field and blur the background of your composition, clearly isolating your subjects.
9-Blade Circular Aperture for Enhanced Bokeh
Bokeh is enhanced when shooting at wide open apertures with the use of the lenses 9-blade rounded aperture diaphragm, which creates stunningly smooth blur in the out-of-focus areas of the image. Perfect for creating discs of light when shooting out of focus light sources in dark conditions to create dramatic eye-catching images.
High Resolution Results
Optical performance is one of the most important aspects of a lens and in this field the Sigma 135mm does not disappoint, with outstanding edge-to-edge sharpness and contrast. Using 13 elements arranged in 10 groups, with 2 SLD (super low dispersion) and 2 FLD (“F" low dispersion) elements to control chromatic aberrations, the lens deliver capture crystal clear detail with rich image clarity contrast.
High Speed Autofocus System
The 135mm features a large hyper sonic motor (HSM) that produces enough torque to move the autofocus elements for quick responsive operation. Combining an updated focus algorithm and an acceleration sensor that detects and compensates for a range of different forces the lens ensures you can capture sharp and in-focus images, even when shooting at wide open apertures.
Focus Limit Control Switch
In order to improve the already impressive autofocus performance, the Sigma 135mm allows you to manually control the focus range of the AF system. There are three different settings the minimal focus distance of 87.5cm and 1.5 metres, 1.5m to infinity, or the entire focus distance range. This allows you to limit your focus range depending on the distance of your subject to optimise autofocus operation.
Minimised Flare and Ghosting
The lens has a super multi-layer coating designed to reduce lens flare and ghosting for consistent high-contrast results even when shooting directly towards a strong light source. The coating combines with the optics of the lens which have been specially designed and tested with a range of different lighting situations to optimise performance when shooting backlit subjects.
Splash and Dust-proof Construction
The Sigma Lens boasts a rugged design that enables confident shooting in a range of conditions, constructed out of mix of metal and a thermally stable composite material. It incorporates a rubber sealing at the mount that protects it from dust and water and a robust brass bayonet mount plate that ensures the lens is reliable in a range of shooting environments.
Nikon Mount Supports Electromagnetic Diaphragm
The Nikon mount version of the lens includes an electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism so it can take advantage of precision diaphragm control and better auto exposure performance with newer Nikon camera models.
Compatible with Sigma Accessories and Adapters
The Sigma 135 mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens supports customisation and fine adjustments with the Sigma USB dock and can be modified with the Sigma Optimisation Pro software. It is compatible with Sigma’s MC-11 which allows the use of Sigma EOS and SA mount lenses with Sony E-Mount Cameras.
