Perfect for Travel

Want to buy a camera that offers DSLR quality images without the price tag of a big heavy camera and multiple lenses? The Nikon Coolpix P1000 might just be the camera you're looking for! Read on for an in-depth review of what makes the P1000 such an awesome travel and everyday shooter!

Versatile Focal Range

Building on the success of the P900 and the P1000 increases the optical zoom function to a massive 125x giving the camera a full frame equivalent focal range of 24mm to a whopping 3000mm (35mm equivalent). This highly versatile zoom range provides the ability to capture everything from wide angle landscapes to close-up shots of the moon without the hassle of changing lenses.

16 Megapixel Sensor with ISO up to 6400

Built around a backside illuminated CMOS 16 Megapixel Sensor, the P1000 offers a wide ISO range from 100 up to 6400. That means the camera can capture stills and video in a variety of different lighting conditions.

Impressive 125x Zoom Range

The feature everyone is talking about with the P1000 is the mind blowing 24-3000mm (35mm equivalent) focal range that delivers an impressive 125x zoom. This massive zoom allows you to switch between wide perspectives for landscapes or interiors and far away subjects invisible to the naked eye like birds or even the moon.

Dynamic Zoom and Snap-Back Function

If 125x zoom isn't enough, the camera has a Dynamic Fine Zoom feature that doubles the telephoto reach to a 6000mm equivalent for a ridiculous 250x magnification. To ensure you can follow your subject the Snap-Back feature zooms out to show a wider frame with the touch of a button and when released quickly zooms back to your original frame.

4K High Resolution Video

Not only able to capture stills of far away subjects, the camera can also record ultra-high resolution 4K video footage with excellent detail. Even if you're not planning to publish your video in 4K having the extra resolution can help stabilise footage or even add subtle digital camera movements in post.

5-stop Image Stabilisation

Boasting 5-stops of optical vibration reduction, the P1000 allows you to comfortably shoot handheld even at the telephoto end of the zoom. The dual detect optical VR system means you can be confident shooting stills without needing a tripod and when recording video, the camera uses a combination of lens shift and electronic VR to deliver steady footage.

3.2-inch LCD Tiltscreen and 2.36 Million Dot EVF

A bright 3.2-inch flip out screen gives you the ability to capture stills and video from a wide range of different perspectives to push your creativity further than ever before. The Coolpix P1000 also offers an upgraded viewfinder with a super sharp 2.36 million dot electronic viewfinder for more accurate composition.

Wi-fi and Bluetooth SnapBridge Connectivity

With built in Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth functionality the P1000 makes sharing your images easy and straightforward. Just connect the camera to your phone or tablet wirelessly to transfer your shots or even control your camera remotely.

The Great All-Rounder

Combining a massive zoom range, 4K video shooting and 5 stops of stabilisation the Nikon COOLPIX P 1000 is the ideal all-rounder camera that is perfect for huge range of photography and cinematic styles.
