Compatible with Canon and Nikon DSLRs

The Manfrotto Digital Director for iPad Air 2 is compatible with Canon and Nikon DSLRs. Perfect for studio photographers and stop motion animators, the Digital Director simplifies your workflow and eliminates the complexity normally involved in a tethered set up.

Official Apple Certified Product

This Digital Director kit comprises of a user supplied iPad Air 2, an Apple certified Digital Director iPad dock and the Manfrotto Digital Director App installed on the tablet device. Together, these three components connect to your Canon or Nikon DLSR via a USB cable to deliver a broad range of integrated camera controls for photo and video, a high resolution real-time viewfinder and a plethora of image workflow and playback functionality.

Dedicated ARM Cortex-A8 CPU

Designed and engineered in Italy, the sleek iPad Air 2 Dock incorporates a powerful ARM Cortex-A8 600MHz CPU to power the interface between the camera and the iPad. This additional level of computing power delivers extremely smooth, low latency live-view monitoring plus responsive menu navigation and camera control for a natural shooting experience that feels as seamless as operating the controls directly.

Fast High Resolution File Transfer

The microprocessor also ensures that the transfer of high resolution images is extremely fast, allowing you to quickly review your shots to check for critical focus and exposure on your iPad’s large Retina display.

In-Location Compatibility

Powered by 4x AA batteries (sold separately) the dock also offers the flexibility of being used on-location, while the included power supply delivers continual power when shooting in a studio environment.

3/8” Mounting Thread

A 3/8" female thread at the base of the dock allows you to attach the holder to a variety of tripods, light stands, and other supports such as Tether Tools supports. Two notches at the base also ensure compatibility to Manfrotto's anti-twist mounts. Additionally, four cold shoe mounts on the rear of the dock ensure compatibility with other accessories.

Free Digital Director App

The Digital Director App can be downloaded free from iTunes. Supporting both Nikon and Canon DSLRs, it offers control of the entire workflow for both photographic and video applications.

Intuitive Camera Controls Interface

Its clear, easy to understand interface delivers instinctive control of standard camera functions such as aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, image quality, focus modes, camera modes, drive modes and more.

Dynamic Histograms w/ Audio Monitoring

The app also displays a dynamic histogram for a more detailed real-time breakdown of your exposure. When recording video, an audio level display can be utilised for accurate audio monitoring.

Focus Peaking Support

For critical focus scenarios such as product or macro photography, an interactive focus mode can be used to select the focus point anywhere on the Retina display. A digital zoom can be combined with focus peaking to magnify a chosen area of the image to ensure the image is razor sharp.

Streamlined Workflow

The playback and review functionality of the Digital Director allow you to create albums, shoot profiles, connection profiles and star ratings, empowering the most frequent shooters to quickly and easily organise and streamline their workflow.

Instant Image Sharing

A built-in image editor is equipped to adjust exposure, contrast, light and also crop, rotate and check the histogram and EXIF data. Once edited, images can be easily saved directly to your iPad camera roll, exported via email or FTP or even shared directly on your favourite social networks.
