Designed with imaging professionals, content creators, YouTube vloggers, and serious photo and video enthusiasts in mind, the RX0 combines a stacked 20 Megapixel Exmor RS CMOS Sensor with a ultrafast Bionz X image processor to deliver stunning photos and high quality uncompressed 4K video via its Clean HDMI output.
1000fps Video Recording
Full HD video recording can be captured internally, providing razor sharp footage from the 1-inch sensor at frame rates starting from 24p up to a mind melting 1000fps in near Full HD. Perfect for slowing down fast action and capturing moments too fleeting for the human eye to register; its speed adds another dimension to your creative production. An impressive full resolution burst rate of 16fps gives you the confidence to freeze that decisive moment in any scenario.
1/32000th Sec Shutter
The blistering performance of the Bionz X processor and extremely fast readout of the Exmor RS sensor has been combined with an anti-distortion shutter capable of shutter speeds up to 1/32000th sec. This helps minimise rolling shutter effects that can cause unnatural distortion of high-speed subjects.
S-Log2 Gamma Profile
A S-Log2 profile for video recording is a welcome addition for professional creators and those who want to match colour when shooting with multiple different cameras. It delivers post-production flexibility, extending the dynamic range of your footage, and offering greater versatility when colour grading.
24mm Zeiss Tessar Lens
Impressive clarity is delivered via the Zeiss Tessar T* 24mm f/4 wide angle lens. Designed with less distortion in its peripheral areas, the lens offers a natural wide field-of-view and improved sharpness across the entire frame. The Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating further improves image performance, reducing ghosting while adding contrast, even when shooting in difficult lighting conditions.
Rugged Waterproof Exterior
The RX0's rigid exterior is made from a unique compound called 'extra super duralumin' that delivers a shockproof rating that can withstand drops from a height of up to 2m, a crushproof shell rated at up to 200kg of crush force and can be submerged up to 10m underwater. The MPK-HSR1 waterproof housing (sold separately) offers hard core SCUBA divers the ability to hit depths of 100m while also extending your creative potential by offering an attachment point for a video light or a 55mm filter.
Rear LCD Monitor
The rear LCD monitor makes it a breeze to check your composition or exposure and adjust camera settings quickly and confidently. Image review and video playback is a delight, while the menu layout has been inherited from Sony's proven RX series of compact cameras, for fast, intuitive navigation.
Built-In Wi-Fi Connectivity
Multi-camera setups are easier than ever before thanks to its built-in Wi-Fi capabilities. Simply install the PlayMemories Mobile app on your smartphone or tablet and remotely control the shutter or configure it to instantly send recorded clips to your smartphone for sharing or backup. With the ability to control up to 5 cameras remotely, the creative potential of the Sony RX0 is limited only by your imagination.
