The Samyang 35mm F1.8 AF UMC - Sony E-Mount is a compact lens designed for street photographers, vloggers and social media creators who are chasing high quality in a portable size.
Sharp Optics
Featuring edge to edge sharpness the image quality, even at the maximum aperture of f1.8. The lens is constructed with an aspherical element that suppresses aberration and delivers a high resolution throughout the whole frame. With 9 aperture blades, the Samyang 35mm 1.8 delivers beautiful out of focus circular bokeh.
Versatile Focal Length
The 35mm focal length is popular range for both photo and video. It provides versatility for a range of subjects being well suited to wide environmental portraits, indoor scenes, landscapes and street shooting. The framing with a 35mm lens works well for enhancing the foreground to background relationship, offering great framing with a wide angle of view.
Fast Aperture
The large f1.8 aperture enhances the overall quality of the lens, allowing more light onto the sensor. At an aperture of f1.8, the lens is still very compact without compromising on quality and light throughput. By utilising the higher light from the aperture this lens allows for a faster ISO and shutter speed so that you can be sure of sharp high-resolution images even in lower light.
Fast, Quiet + Accurate AF
The addition of autofocus, as well as manual focus, enables the lens to be used effectively for photography and video. The quiet autofocus motor and tracking are especially suited to video with smooth motion and accurate subject locking. The newly researched and developed Linear Stepping Motor (STM), from Samyang, allows for a larger and heavier focus lens group to be controlled with precision and quietly at that.
Versatile Custom Control
The 35mm AF UMC Sony E-Mount Lens has a Custom Switch for intuitive and simple shooting. There are 2 fully customisable modes and a toggle between Aperture Control (AF), Normal Control (AF) and Manual Focus with the flick of a switch. There are extra functions planned for the future, via firmware updates, with the optional Samyang Lens Station (sold separately). The Samyang Lens Station is also required to change the custom modes.
Weather Sealing
This AF 35mm F1.8 FE features weather sealing in 4 places so that you are protected from rain, snow and light dust. The weather sealing allows for stunning image capture in less than ideal conditions.
Compact + Lightweight with Full-frame Performance
The lens performs at levels you would expect from a high-end full frame format while retaining an ultra-compact size and lightweight body. At just 210g and 65x63.5mm this lens sets the standard for portability and quality as a Samyang Tiny Series Lens. Sony Full-frame mirrorless cameras are supported by the lens with corner to corner sharpness. The prefect lens for Sony shooters who are chasing a high-resolution image from a portable lens.
