The Professionals Choice

The Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 DG OS HSM Sports lens is designed with the professional photographer in mind. Considered a great all-rounder, its focal length is commonly used by portrait photographers, wedding photographers, sports shooters, wildlife adventurers, photo journalists and more.

Uncompromising Optical Construction

Its optical construction is made up of a total of 10 low-dispersion glass elements to deliver superior optical performance throughout the entire zoom range. Nine F-Low Dispersion (FLD) elements and one Special Low Dispersion (SLD) element work in a delicate fusion to produce maximum corner-to-corner sharpness and true-to-life colour reproduction.

Fast f/2.8 Maximum Aperture

The bright f/2.8 aperture is made possible by an 11-blade rounded diaphragm. Delivering great foreground to background separation ensures that your attention is naturally drawn to your subject with background distractions blended into a naturally smooth bokeh effect.

Built-in Optical Image Stabilisation

Built-in Optical Stabilisation helps deliver maximum sharpness when shooting handheld or at the telephoto range of the zoom. The incorporation of Intelligent OS combines an acceleration sensor and the latest algorithm to allow panning in all directions. Shooting in Stabilisation Mode 2 now allows photographers to pan horizontally, vertically or diagonally for greater creative freedom and unique compositions.

Fast, Accurate Autofocus

Autofocus is fast and accurate, as expected with any lens in Sigma’s Sport Line thanks to it’s Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) focusing system. The barrel of the lens features an AF Function button that can be configured as a shortcut to various camera settings. A Manual Override function equips you with the ability to seamlessly switch from auto to manual focus, even during continuous AF for critical focusing requirements.

Focus Limiter Function

A focus limiter can also be employed to help improve the speed and accuracy of the auto focus when your subject is moving in a predictable path or is confined to a certain area.

Weather Sealed, Magnesium Alloy Construction

Built to withstand the abuse that professional photographers put their gear through, the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 Sport lens is constructed in part using a lightweight magnesium alloy that delivers strength without the added weight of traditional materials. Weather sealing throughout the lens also ensures you can shoot with confidence, even in uncomfortable or physically demanding locations.

Sigma USB Dock Compatible

Compatibility with Sigma’s USB Dock for lens firmware updates, focusing calibration and optimisation, the Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 DG OS HSM will be a go-to lens for years to come.
