The Samyang 85 mm f/1.4 prime lens Canon RF is available for every major digital SLR1 manufacturer including Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus and Pentax. Its fixed 85mm focal length is considered perfect for portrait photography. The bright f/1.4 aperture combined with the 85mm focal length is great for isolating your subject by beautifully blurring any distractions in the background. Similar to the days of earlySLR cameras, the Samyang requires manual focusing and aperture adjustment. Thankfully, the silky smooth action of the dampened focus ring and 1/2EV increments (except when stepping from f/1.4 to f/2.0 and f/16 to f/22) of the aperture ring make finding correct focus and exposure a breeze. Despite these two omissions, the build and optical quality of the lens is exceptional.

Made from a combination of metal and high quality plastics, the lens features 9 glass elements in 7 groups including one aspherical element. With outstanding edge to edge sharpness, beautiful out of focus rendition and true to life colour reproduction the Samyang 85mm f/1.4 prime lens represents excellent value for money.
