The Sony E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS II is a compact, lightweight power zoom lens designed for Sony E-mount APS-C mirrorless cameras. With a 16-50mm focal length (24-75mm equivalent on full-frame), this versatile standard zoom covers everything from wide-angle environmental shots to moderate telephoto framing in a single lens. The smooth, quiet power zoom mechanism is ideal for video shooting, offering reliable autofocus even while zooming and eliminating the manual focus breathing that can distract viewers. Built-in Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation minimises shake during handheld shooting and works in concert with in-body stabilisation systems, including Active Mode, for exceptionally smooth footage. Advanced optical design featuring four aspherical elements and one ED (extra-low dispersion) glass element delivers excellent colour control and clarity throughout the zoom range, whilst the circular seven-blade aperture creates natural-looking bokeh. The lens retracts to just 31.3mm when powered off, making it genuinely portable for travel and everyday shooting. Refined linear autofocus ensures fast, reliable focus, and close-focusing capability down to 0.25m (wide) and 0.30m (tele) lets you capture fine details.
