The Shimoda Action X40 V2 Starter Kit is a complete setup for outdoor and adventure photographers, pairing the tough X40 backpack with a Medium DSLR Core Unit for tidy, protected gear storage. The Core Unit insert suits most gripped DSLR cameras up to 6.7", while two padded sleeves hold laptops or tablets up to 16". This V2 version includes an improved harness for more balanced load carrying, a roll-top closure for expandable capacity, and a concealed sleeve for an AirTag or other device tracker, helping you keep track of your kit out in the field.

Quick access is a key feature, with a side opening that lets you reach your camera without taking the pack off. Two removable pouches can carry a tripod or water bottle, and may also be moved to the waist belt for fast access to lenses or snacks, or removed completely when not needed. The detachable waist belt adds stability under heavier loads, while TPU compression straps secure bulky items such as skis. A removable helmet holder keeps a bike or ski helmet attached to the outside of the pack, and the trolley sleeve allows the backpack to slide over rolling luggage for easier travel.
