The Ricoh GR IV Monochrome is a specialist evolution of the iconic GR series, created exclusively for black-and-white photography. It uses a custom 25.74MP APS-C sensor without a colour filter array, capturing pure luminance data for outstanding sharpness, natural grain and smooth tonal gradations. Finished in a discreet matte-black magnesium body, it also features a built-in red filter and a high-speed electronic shutter for precise control over contrast and exposure in a truly pocket-sized camera.

Designed for photographers who take snapshot photography seriously, the Ricoh GR IV Monochrome delivers image quality well beyond expectations for a compact camera. Its high-resolution APS-C sensor performs strongly in low light, while the 28mm equivalent fixed lens with a bright f/2.8 maximum aperture supports versatile everyday shooting. Shake reduction with an updated algorithm helps reduce camera shake for sharper results, and the camera includes Image Control with 12 standard effect modes, plus a new Cinema mode and Grain Effect mode for film-like results.

Powered by the GR ENGINE 7, the sensor delivers exceptional fine detail, rich gradation and strong high-sensitivity performance. This also improves camera responsiveness, including faster autofocus and quicker start-up. The sensitivity range extends to ISO 160-409,600, supported by a proprietary Accelerator Unit that processes the high signal-to-noise output from the new sensor before it reaches the image processor, helping the camera excel in low-light conditions.
