Its dedicated Cinematic Video Mode makes it easy to achieve polished, professional results by automatically applying a standard shutter angle, frame rate and colour tone. For more distinctive looks, you can select from nine pre-made Imaging Recipes and preview the effect in real time.

For experienced users, the ZR offers impressive versatility. It is the first Nikon camera to support the RED R3D NE codec, with recording in seven formats including 12-bit RAW for maximum detail and editing flexibility. Supported recording options include high-resolution 6K and 4K capture.

The camera also includes a full set of professional monitoring tools. Its 4.0-inch LCD screen supports LUTs (Look-Up Tables), allowing you to preview a finished graded look while shooting. Waveforms, histograms and zebra stripes help you monitor exposure with accuracy.

Autofocus is another major strength. Using deep learning and 273 focus points, the system can track people, animals, vehicles and even aircraft. Face detection is highly precise, recognising a face even when it occupies as little as 3% of the frame, making it dependable for wide shots and fast action.

Audio performance is equally impressive, with the worldÕs first native 32-bit float audio recording through a 3.5mm jack. This captures a wide dynamic range without clipping, even when using the built-in microphone. The integrated OZO Audio system offers five pickup patterns, including voice-isolated and 360-degree modes. It can also be used with the optional ME-D10 shotgun microphone for professional broadcast-quality audio without external batteries or XLR inputs.
