With its ultra-bright maximum aperture, this lens is ideal for precise depth of field control and low-light shooting, and it offers the fastest aperture ever seen on a Nikon lens.

To deliver sharp, detailed stills and video in a wide range of shooting conditions, this prime lens features an advanced optical design incorporating Aspherical and ED glass elements.

This lens is manual focus only and includes a dedicated focus ring with natural torque for accurate, controlled focusing. It is especially well suited to working with the shallow depth of field that such a fast aperture provides.

Built for challenging lighting and everyday protection

Multiple lens coatings help reduce flare and ghosting, even in difficult backlit scenes. ARNEO and Nano Crystal coatings are both included for improved image quality. Nikon has also designed this lens with dust and drip resistance, plus a fluorine coating on the front element to help repel dirt and grime.
