With a guide number of 24/78.7 (m/ft, ISO 100), the SB-500 offers coverage for a 24 mm lens angle of view in FX format, or 16 mm in DX format, helping expand your creative possibilities.

Beautiful indoor portraits with bounce flash

The flash head tilts up to 90¡ and rotates 180¡ left and right, making it easier to bounce light and reduce harsh, unnatural shadows.

Built-in high-performance LED light

An integrated LED light makes the SB-500 useful for video recording and close-up still photography. It delivers approximately 100 lx, the highest-class brightness among products powered by two AA-size batteries.

Using a diffuser, the surface light source covers the angle of view of a 24 mm lens (FX format). Output is adjustable in three levels: Low, Mid and High. With a colour temperature of 5400K, close to daylight, it also works well as a natural-looking fill light outdoors.

The colour information communication function automatically sets the most suitable white balance when attached to the D810 or D750. Superior colour rendering also helps reproduce subject colours faithfully.

Supports the Nikon Creative Lighting System

Wide-area AF Assist Illuminator is not supported.

In Advanced Wireless Lighting, the SB-500 can be used as either a master flash or a remote flash using the cameraÕs built-in flash as the master.

Simple operation

When mounted on the D750, the SB-500 is automatically recognised and flash settings can be adjusted from the cameraÕs custom menu. Commander mode can also be set from the camera.

Powered by widely available AA batteries

The SB-500 runs on two AA-size alkaline or Ni-MH batteries, which are easy to find almost anywhere, so you can stay ready to shoot.
