The DJI RS 5 is a powerful yet portable stabilisation system built to support mainstream mirrorless setups such as the Sony FX3 and Canon R5 Mark II, with a 3kg payload capacity. Even with this load capability, the gimbal weighs just 1.46kg and uses 5th-Gen stabilisation algorithms to maintain control and stability during fast-paced movement. The RS Enhanced Intelligent Tracking Module, included only in the Combo Kit, lets you select and track people, vehicles and pets directly from the touchscreen. It can reacquire subjects at up to 10 metres, while the new Z-axis indicator provides immediate feedback to help improve footwork and footage stability.

Workflow efficiency is a key focus of the DJI RS 5 Gimbal, with second-generation automated axis locks enabling near-instant deployment and third-gen native vertical shooting allowing a 90-degree orientation change in seconds. Balancing is made easier with Teflon-coated arms and leadscrew fine-tuning knobs, even when using heavier professional camera builds. Dual-layer quick-release plates also make it simple to move between the gimbal and tripods without needing to rebalance, while expanded Bluetooth shutter support adds wireless control for select Panasonic and Fujifilm cameras, as well as Sony, Canon and Nikon systems.

The included Electronic Briefcase Handle further improves control with ergonomic one-handed operation, plus integrated joystick and camera buttons. Power performance is also improved, with the standard battery charging fully in one hour, a 60% increase in charging speed, and up to 14 hours of runtime. An RSA communication port and support for the DJI Focus Pro Motor and SDR Transmission system allow the RS 5 to scale from solo shooting through to professional multi-person productions.
