The launch of the Canon EOS R turned heads in late 2018, and CanonÕs EOS RP makes a similarly strong impression as another full-frame mirrorless camera. At around 20% smaller than the EOS R, the EOS RP sits as the entry point into the Canon mirrorless full-frame range.

Despite being the lightest full-frame EOS camera available, the EOS RP delivers impressive performance. It features a 26MP full-frame sensor, 4K video recording and continuous shooting at up to 4 frames per second. To help you make the most of its capabilities, there are up to 4779 selectable AF point positions, while focus down to EV-5 is available with certain lenses for confident low-light shooting.

The more compact body does mean some features found on the EOS R are not included, such as the top LCD, multifunction touch bar and support for an optional battery grip.

On the rear, the vari-angle LCD screen is slightly smaller at 3 inches, but the body still offers a good level of customisable buttons and dials for flexible operation.

The Canon EOS RP also includes a built-in interval timer mode, making it easy to create time-lapse movies in camera. The EVF is also smaller than the EOS R at approximately 0.39 inches, but still offers a 60fps refresh rate and 100% frame coverage.

If you want a compact way to achieve the quality Canon EOS users expect, the Canon EOS RP is a compelling choice.
