Equipped with Stereo X/Y microphones that can take high sound pressure levels and an automatic gain function, the Handy Video Recorder allows you to easily record quick songs ideas, jam sessions and live performances.

Full HD Video

The Q2n Handy Video Recorder captures footage as high-quality MOV files in 1080p or 720p resolutions at either 24 or 30 fps able to record fine detail and subtle movements. The camera shoots onto a Micro SD card of up to 128GB so you can capture long jams with high resolution video without worrying about the recorder running out of space.

High Quality Sound Recording

As well as it’s high-resolution video functions the Q2n also offers an impressive audio recording capability making it a truly desirable piece of gear for musicians. It’s stereo condenser microphones with an X/Y arrangement produce clear stereo sound without any phase cancellation issues.

Flexible Applications

Designed to withstand audio levels up to 120db SPL, you can use the Q2n to capture loud live music onstage while at the same time it’s auto gain function means you can also record song ideas while practicing at home. Writing the audio information in an uncompressed WAV format the unit can record at 24-bit/96 kHz. This high-resolution audio picks up fine details and provides you with the ability to post process for further fine-tuning & mixing.

Wide Field of View

The Q2n Video Recorder is equipped with an ultra wide lens that is equivalent to 16.6mm in a 35mm format, the 160° wide view allows you to capture intimate performances with ease. Its 5-step field of view adjustment give you the option to fill the frame, if your performing solo or to widen the shot to capture the entire band playing.

Fixed Focus Lens with Fast f/2 Aperture

Equipped with a wide aperture f/2 lens, the camera can comfortably record in dim ambient light to capture clean footage even while playing outdoors at night or inside dark music venues. The fixed focus lens ensures a consistent view without any variations caused by focus hunting, resulting in more stable video.

Compact Design Fits Anywhere

The compact and lightweight design of the Q2n makes it extremely portable. Weighing just 91g, you can slip it into virtually any corner of your equipment bag. It doesn’t require a tripod and can stand on its own flat base so you can leave it on top of your rack or amplifier. With a 1/4-inch socket on its base you also have the option mount it on any standard tripod.

Preset Scene Modes

The Q2n Recorder comes with 10 preset scene modes that are designed to suit various lighting conditions helping you to set up the camera so you can start shooting instantly. These modes are intelligently programmed to ensure great quality and easy operation. ‘Concert Light’ mode makes automatic adjustments to compensate the instantaneous changes in the lighting and ‘Concert Lo-Lit’ mode is optimised for shooting in dimly lit rooms.

Intuitive Layout of Controls

Most of the important functions on the Q2n Recorder are accessible at the touch of a button. You can adjust the FOV, change scene mode, audio quality or auto gain settings in an instant. The recorder also has a LCD screen that can display the video settings, recording status, remaining battery life and audio level.

Manual Control

The rotatory dial for manual gain is easy to operate and gives a nice retro feel to this modern piece of technology. The dual colour LED on the front indicates the recording status and starts blinking when the sound level is peaking so that you can adjust the gain settings.

Versatile Input and Output Options

The 3.5mm input provides plug in power so you can attach a microphone that requires external power. You can monitor your audio levels with the 3.5mm headphones output socket, and a micro HDMI socket provides you an ability to stream the video to a television or a compatible monitor.

Works as Webcam or Auxiliary Microphone

Connecting the Q2n camera to your computer through the USB cable allows you to use it as a webcam for live streaming, as a microphone for recording podcasts or even as a card reader to transfer recordings. You can also connect to your iOS device through the lightning cable or iPad Camera Connection Kit (both sold separately).

Dual Mode Power Supply

You can power your Zoom Q2-n Audio Record using 2 AA batteries that provide up to 2 hours of recording time or the Zoom AD-17 adapter (sold separately) that powers the camera through USB so that you can record for ever longer.
