Maximise your Fast Aperture Lenses

The Syrp Variable ND Filter Kit is handy for filmmakers as well as time-lapse and landscape photographers. It equips you with incredible creative control, allowing you to use wide open apertures or specific shutter speeds without compromising your exposure.

Up to 8.5 Stops of Light Reduction

The ND filter effectively limits the amount of light entering the lens by between 1 and 8.5 stops. This infinitely linear control equips you with the ability to shoot in bright, sunny conditions with fast apertures and slow shutter speeds without over exposing the image.

Anti-Reflective Coating

Made from high quality Japanese glass, the filter ensures maximum optical performance. An anti-reflective coating minimises flare while increasing contrast and retaining a neutral colour temperature to deliver vibrant, accurate colour reproduction.

Control your Frame Rate

For film makers, the variable ND filter allows shallow depth of field effects while still maintaining the required 1/25 or 1/30 frames per second or other frame rate. Simply set your camera to manual exposure mode, choose your desired aperture and shutter speed then rotate the front dial on the Syrp variable filter till your exposure is perfect.

Reduce Rolling Shutter

The filter can also be used to reduce or eliminate the ‘rolling shutter’ effect, commonly encountered when shooting video with fast shutter speeds.

Filter Markings for Easy Fine-Tuning

Markings on the filter allow you to see exactly how many stops of light are being filtered, making it easy for serious shooters to take note of exactly what settings were used for each shot.

Unique, Creative Landscapes

Photographers can use the variable neutral density kit to create unique motion blur images and time-lapse animations in bright daylight conditions. Limiting the amount of light hitting the sensor makes it possible to use slower shutter speeds to smooth out waterfalls, rivers, oceans and other large bodies of water, to create truly serene and evocative imagery. Fast moving clouds can also be given a much more dramatic effect and add another unique dimension to your photography.
