The Sony FDR-AX100 delivers 4K Ultra HD recording capabilities in a compact, traditional camcorder form factor. A versatile lens, superior ergonomics and great portability combine to equip you with the ability to shoot short films, documentaries, video blogs and more.

A large 1-inch, 20 megapixel Exmor R BSI CMOS sensor is combined with a BIONZ X image processor to deliver dynamic, razor-sharp footage. Thanks to its ultra-fast image processor, the AX100 is capable of 4K capture to provide an astonishing amount of detail and unsurpassed versatility in post-production.

A bit rate of 50Mbps is supported when shooting in Full HD to enable you to retain ultra-sharp clarity when panning or filming fast action. In High Definition the frame rate can be increased to 120fps using the slow motion mode to enable silky smooth capture of action sequences.

The camera can also deliver large 20 megapixel still images in the dedicated photo mode, or 2.1 megapixel photos whilst simultaneously recording video.

Its Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar T* Lens features a 12x optical zoom that can be digitally boosted to 160x for amazing shooting versatility. A 35mm equivalent focal range of 29-348mm suits a variety of shooting scenarios including sweeping landscapes, interviews, event coverage and sports.

A manual control ring around the lens barrel can be customised to either control focus or zoom by using a dedicated button to toggle between each mode.

Built-in Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilisation with Intelligent Active Mode minimises camera shake when shooting handheld to deliver consistently smooth footage across the entire focal range. The active mode is especially useful when shooting while walking or filming from an unstable vehicle such as a car or boat.

Two built-in Neutral Density filters allow you to control the amount of light hitting the sensor to provide better exposure control and creative versatility when shooting in strong sunlight. The use of the ND filter enables you to vary your aperture and shutter speed for creative effect without negatively impacting the exposure of the scene.

A large 3.5-inch Xtra Fin LCD screen features a 921k-dot resolution and a native 16:9 aspect ratio for sharp, accurate image composition and playback. A high-contrast 0.39-inch OLED Tru-Finder EVF constructed from four dual surface aspherical lenses ensures shooting in any lighting scenario is catered for.

Built-in WiFi with NFC connectivity opens up a world of creative possibilities. Simply touch your compatible smartphone or tablet to the camera for a fast, hassle-free wireless connection.
