The Sony A7R II packs an amazing amount of technology into a compact, ergonomic, mirrorless camera body. Its impressive updated full frame sensor delivers stunning high-resolution photos and Ultra high definition 4K video recording.
42 Megapixel Exmor R CMOS Sensor
Packing a massive 42 megapixels into its full frame sensor, the A7R MkII is squarely aimed at the serious photographer. The ground breaking back illuminated Exmor R CMOS Sensor features a gapless design that significantly improves light sensitivity resulting in detail rich results with true-to-life colour reproduction.
The elimination of the optical low-pass filter further enhances image quality, delivering extremely low noise up to its maximum ISO102400 while maximising the resolving power and clarity across the entire frame.
5-Axis In-Camera Image Stabilisation
The addition of a 5-axis in-camera image stabilisation system provides a 4.5 stop advantage, improving sharpness in low-light scenarios and delivering improved creative versatility when setting your exposure. The stabilisation system works irrespective of what lens is mounted to the camera ensuring 3rd party or adapted lenses also gain the benefit of reduced camera shake and razor sharp results.
500,000 Cycle Anti-Vibration Shutter
A redesigned shutter features a 50% reduction in vibration compared with the A7R, offering significantly reduced shutter slap and improved precision and reliability. Rated at approximately 500,000 actuations, the shutter can also be completely disabled in Silent Shooting mode, eliminating sound and vibration when shooting in covert or delicate situations such as street photography or a wedding ceremony.
399 Point Hybrid AF System
A high performance Fast Hybrid Autofocus system utilises 399 focal-plane phase-detection AF points bolstered by 25 contrast-detect AF points. Covering approximately 67% of the frame in both horizontal and vertical directions ensures lightning fast AF performance and impressive focus tracking. Autofocus and Auto exposure modes can be combined with the 5fps continuous burst mode to deliver tack-sharp, perfectly exposed action sequences with point-and-shoot simplicity.
4K In-Camera Video Recording
4K video recording is now available in-camera. The A7R II is capable of shooting QFHD quality video in either full-frame or Super 35mm crop mode for maximum composition flexibility. The Super 35mm mode utilises the full pixel readout without binning and oversampling to produce 4K movies with reduced moire and jaggies.
100Mbps Video Quality
The efficient XAVCS codec delivers a 100Mbps bitrate file in 4K for superior creative latitude when editing and colour grading your footage in post-production.
120fps Super Slow Motion
A 120fps Slow Motion mode is available in HD resolution, providing a new creative avenue for your video production. Other professional features such as Picture Profiles, S-Log2 Gamma, S-Gamut, Time Code support and clean HDMI out ensure the A7R II will integrate with your existing setup without negatively impacting your workflow.
2.3 Million-dot OLED EVF
Its updated 2.3 million-dot XGA OLED Tru-Finder electronic viewfinder (EVF) features a double-sided aspherical lens for an impressive 0.78x ultra-wide field of view for exceptional clarity. The four aspherical lenses deliver improved edge-to-edge sharpness across the entire frame while its Zeiss T* coating reduces surface reflections for maximum optical clarity.
Tilting LCD Screen
A 3-inch 1.2milion-dot TFT LCD screen is housed in the rear for stress-free menu navigation and a more casual shooting approach. The tilting screen design ensures high and low angle perspectives can be captured easily and accurately.
Built-in WIFi & NFC Connectivity
Built-in WiFi and NFC connectivity in conjunction with Sony's free PlayMemories Camera App allows your compatible smartphone or tablet to quickly connect to the camera for instant photo sharing with your friends, family and favourite social networks.
Solid, Ergonomic Magnesium Alloy Chassis
With its solid magnesium alloy chassis, comfortable ergonomic grip and full compatibility with the ever growing range of E-Mount and superior FE Mount lenses, the Sony A7R II represents a true leap in imaging innovation.
