The Olympus OM-D E-M10 II is a worthy successor to the original E-M10 mirrorless camera. The updated Mark II version improves upon many facets of the original including speed, build quality and image quality. Its compact, lightweight design is combined with fashionable styling to create an unassuming pocket powerhouse suitable for beginner photographers through to serious enthusiast shooters.
16.1 Megapixel Live MOS Image Sensor
Its proven 16.1 megapixel Live MOS sensor is combined with an updated TruePic VII Advanced image processor to deliver vibrant, high resolution photos and crystal clear Full HD 1080p video.
Excellent Low-Light Imaging Performance
Capable of pushing the sensor to a maximum ISO25600, the E-M10 II excels in low-light scenarios, equipping you with the creative versatility and imaging performance to deliver impressive images in a broad range of lighting conditions.
Built-in Pop-Up Flash
A convenient pop-up flash is available for extreme low-light shooting, and can be used as a fill flash to bring out more detail in the foreground when shooting into the sun or shooting into an extremely bright background.
5-Axis In-Body Image Stabilisation
The biggest improvement with the E-M10 Mark II is to the Voice Coil Motor (VCM) in-body stabilisation system. Now equipped with 5-axis stabilisation, the camera is transformed into a truly versatile all-rounder, offering a four shutter-speed step advantage and capable of producing razor sharp, blur-free images in a variety of scenarios.
The 5-axis stabiliser system minimises camera shake and works with the entire range of Olympus MFT lenses to deliver detail-rich images and silky smooth video. The image stabiliser also bolsters the low-light capability of the EM10 II, allowing you to shoot handheld at slower shutter speeds without sacrificing image quality.
4K Time-Lapse Video Mode
A 4K Time-Lapse video mode has also been added to the E-M10 II for stunning time-lapse sequences. Its 4K resolution delivers cropping flexibility whilst still maintaining Full HD resolution. The powerful built-in intervalometer also enables you to program your shooting frame rate based on your subject matter.
81 Auto Focus Points
The camera uses 81 AF points combined with FAST autofocus technology to ensure the subject in your compositions are tack-sharp. For situations such as macro photography which require critical focus, the Super Spot AF mode can be utilised to deliver pixel perfect results, while portraits benefit from Eye-Detection AF which combines the 81 AF points with facial recognition technology to automatically focus on your subject’s eyes.
AF Targeting Pad
The AF Targeting Pad is another innovation that was previously unavailable in the original E-M10. It enables you to compose images through the EVF and control focus by tracing your thumb along the rear LCD, equipping you with instinctual, ultra-fast control of all 81 AF points.
8.5 fps Burst Mode
For fast action scenarios advanced tracking autofocus is combined with an improved 8.5 fps full-resolution burst mode to ensure capturing the decisive moment in dynamic, high-speed action is a simple point-and-shoot affair.
One-Touch Full HD Video Recording
For scenarios where a photo doesn’t do the story justice, Full High Definition video recording at frame rates up to 60p is available. A dedicated video recording button ensures you’re always prepared to capture the moment as it happens. The one-touch recording feature begins recording video regardless of what mode the camera is in, significantly simplifying the movie making process.
Touch AF Shutter
For a more intuitive shooting experience Touch AF shutter is also available. Utilising the rear LCD screen the Touch feature allows you to simply tap to focus and take the shot. Handy for capturing candid moments, it delivers a simplified shooting experience with the advantage of pinpoint focusing accuracy. The Touch AF function also works wirelessly with compatible mobile devices, allowing you to shoot intuitively from your smartphone or tablet display.
The handy silent mode is great for a broad range of scenarios including street and wildlife photography. It disables the shutter sound allowing you to shoot more discreetly, allowing you to capture truly candid moments. It is also useful in wedding ceremonies, stage shows and live performances, allowing you to shoot without disturbing proceedings.
2.36 Million-dot Viewfinder
Updated from the original EVF is now a larger 2.36 million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder with a 1.23x ratio magnification is suitable for all lighting conditions. The large viewfinder maximises composition and focusing accuracy, helping to achieve tack-sharp results in a broad range of lighting conditions.
3-inch Tilt LCD Touchscreen
An equally impressive 3.0-inch 1.04 million-dot Tilting LCD Touch Screen delivers straightforward playback control with intuitive menu navigation. Its tilt design encourages low and high angle shooting for truly unique perspective results.
Built-in WiFi Connectivity
Built-in WiFi combined with the Free Olympus OI Share App allows instant photo sharing with friends, family and your favourite social networks. The app also delivers comprehensive wireless control of the camera and its shooting functions, providing a versatile wireless shooting experience straight from your smartphone or tablet.
Rugged Metal Chassis
The perfect intersection of style and functionality the Olympus OM-D EM10 II also features an updated faux-leather texture, knurled dials and a metal chassis for superior durability and reliability. Leave it in your bag and bring it with you every day so you never miss another moment.
