The DJI Ronin MX is a dual-purpose professional 3-axis gimbal system that can be used for handheld or aerial operations, resulting in amazing, virtually shake-free footage. The newly designed cage locks your camera in place on the top and bottom providing more security and the added stabilisation required for aerial footage. The Ronin MX’s lightweight magnesium body can support up to 4.5kg of gear, giving you plenty of options for professional DSLR or video cameras.

Lightweight Magnesium Body with Improved Cage Design

An improved body and cage design sees the Ronin MX battery moved to the gimbal’s front for added balance. The cage now has two locking points to better secure and stabilise your camera for aerial use. At just 2.7kg, it’s light, designed for use with the DJI M600 flying platform. On its own, it can support up to 4.5kg, leaving plenty of options for a range of different professional video cameras.

3-Axis Gimbal Stabilisation with SmoothTrack

A 3-Axis gimbal provides stabilisation to balance your camera and eliminate shakes or vibrations caused by walking or flight. A slip ring supports smooth, continuous 360° rotation, with a newly increased tilt of 135° beyond the vertical axis. Integrated SmoothTrack technology makes single-operator use easy, with customisable control settings for speed, acceleration, and more.

Easy to Balance with Auto Tune Stability

Set-up is quick and simple, getting you ready to shoot in only 5 minutes. Attach your camera of choice to the gimbal and mount the whole rig on the included tuning stand, hit the Auto Tune Stability (ATS) button, and the Ronin MX will take it from there, fine tuning and balancing the motors based on the weight of your gear.

Mobile App Compatibility for Custom Settings

For further control, the Ronin MX is compatible with the DJI Assistant app which is available for iOS and Android. Using the app allows you to control the SmoothTrack settings and behaviour of the gimbal. If using the Ronin MX for flight, the DJI GO app and Lightbridge 2 can also be used.

Modes of Operation

The Ronin MX still features the same popular 3 modes of operations as previous models. Upright Mode – Ideal for shooting at above eye-level, the camera can be flipped over, making it easier to capture high angles, or capturing large crowds without straining to lift the gimbal.

Underslung Mode –This is a standard low-slung camera positionproviding added stability to handheld footage during regular movements. This mode could also be used for aerial operations.

Briefcase Mode–Great for tight spaces, this mode gives the gimbal a slimmer profile so it can be held to your side, ideal for narrow hallways or going through doorways.

Advanced IMU and Brushless Motors

The 3 brushless motors and Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs) have been improved for more powerful wind resistance and better strength for faster, High G movements. The silent motors work along 3 axes with the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), sending info to a built-in 32-bit processor to calculate movement ensuring the Ronin MX is steady and holds the horizon.

Remote Control with Dual Operator Support

Right out of the box, the 2.4 GHz radio remote control supports a second remote for dual operator use. While one operator holds the gimbal and follows the action, the other controls camera movement, allowing you to capture highly technical cinematic footage with perfect, steady camera movement.

Intelligent Battery with 3 HoursOperation

An Intelligent battery, with built-in over-charge and over-depletion protection, provides up to 3 hours of operation, with remaining power displayed by LEDs. In another change from the previous model, the Ronin MX’s battery has been moved to the front of the gimbal for better weight distribution. The previous battery area can now be used to hold a second battery pack.
