The DJI Mavic Pro Platinum Drone is a compact yet incredibly powerful personal drone that can unleash your creativity by allowing you to explore the world of aerial photography and filmmaking. They can record high quality stabilised video as well as 12 megapixel RAW photos using a 3-axis mechanical gimbal to produce fantastic results. Featuring a variety of intelligent flight modes, the Mavic Pro and Pro Platinum can easily track subjects, be controlled by a simple screen tap, and respond to hand gestures to make shooting breath taking footage and photos from the sky easier than ever.

Compact and Portable

Despite the Pro Platinum's considerable technical capabilities, it has been designed to be easily portable so you can take it anywhere. It’s unique folding design allows it to pack down to less than 200mm long and 85mm wide while still managing to retain the features of higher end drone models.

Lightweight Design

Weighing in at 743g, the Mavic Platinum is one of the lightest drones on the market. This means it can easily go wherever you go, capturing unique aerial scenes from your travels without you needing to worry about carrying around a weighty aircraft.

Agile Manoeuvrability

The other benefit of the drones reduced mass is its enhanced manoeuvrability which allows for sophisticated aerial navigation as well as enabling the drones crazy top speed of 65 kph when flying in the sports mode.

Quick and Easy Drone Setup

The DJI Mavic Pro Platinum is designed to be quickly setup and ready to fly in seconds. The propeller arms fold out and the new propeller design yields a 4db reduction in noise compared to the Mavic Pro.

New OcuSync Transmission System

Boasting an enhanced 7km flight range and 1080p live streaming the updated OcuSync Transmission System also supports Wi-Fi control from a mobile phone without the need for a controller giving you a choice of different control options. A solid reliable signal is achieved by scanning a range of available frequencies to identify the cleanest channel to ensure a strong connection. This makes sure you can control the aircraft confidently and even download your photos and videos to your smart device during the flight.

Included Dual Joystick Controller

The DJI Mavic Pro Platinum includes a game pad sized controller that conveniently folds around your mobile and connects via a cable to deliver a lightning fast live view of what your drones can see direct to your device. The controller can also display your speed, number of connected satellites and other flight data to assist you in the air.

Reliable Outdoor Ability

The drone connects to up to 20 American GPS and Russian GLONASS satellites to provide quick and accurate positioning. If disturbed during a hover by heavy winds for example, the VPS and GPS systems tracks the Mavic Platinum's movement and return it to its original hovering point. The drone is even able to adapt for changing terrain for instance if you are climbing a mountain the drone can adapt from the height changes to makes sure it keep the same height about it’s subject.

Indoor Navigation

Traditional drones use GPS and similar satellite connections to make sure the drone can hover in the same place which normally doesn’t work indoors where the GPS signal gets lost, but the Mavic uses vision sensors to ensure that even without GPS it can operate and hover normally.

Quad Vision Sensors and Sonar for Collision Detection

The drone uses 4 vision sensors that capture optical and 2 sonar sensors data to detect obstacles up to 15 metres in front, this helps the drone to create a 3D map of the environment around it. The 2 ultra-sonic range finders use sonar to detect objects to deliver enhanced collision detection and obstacle avoidance.

Backup IMU Sensors and Compass Units

DJI have recognised that stability and reliability are the most important factors during flight and to ensure accurate performance the Mavic boasts two Inertia Measurement Units (IMU) and dual compasses. This protects against any flight control system failures by providing a backup system and also provides a double check of the flight data to ensure the drones movements are accurate.

24 Computing Cores for Processing

In order to process the huge amount of data collected by the IMU sensors, the GPS/GLONASS satellites, the 4 vision sensors, and the units 2 ultra-sonic range finders the drone utilises 24 high performance computing cores.

DCI 4K Video and 12 Megapixel Raw Image Quality

The camera has a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor and is capable of capturing high quality 4K DCI video footage at a resolution of 4096 x 2160 pixels as well as 12-Megapixel RAW still images. The camera can also shoot slow motion footage in Full High Definition at 96fps and 720p at 120fps so you can capture quick movements from the air. The Mavic also has an updated maximum shutter speed of 8 seconds meaning that it can shoot aerial long exposures.

High Precision 3-Axis Mechanical Gimbal

DJI’s smallest ever 3-Axis Gimbal is built into the Mavic and it compensates for any bumps or vibrations to deliver smooth footage of your flight. By using the mechanical gimbal to stabilise the shots rather than electronic stabilisation means rather than digitally cropping to 1080p like digital stabilisation does to steady the footage the Mavic is able to preserve the quality of the video at the ultra-high resolution of 4K.

Smart Battery System

Setting the Mavic Pro Platinum aside from the competition, is its Li-Po intelligent battery, rather than just measuring current and voltage the smart battery also monitors temperature and records the history of the battery for a more accurate battery level. The integrated stylish battery design allows the drone to fly an impressive 30 minutes, a 10% improvement on the Mavic, on a single charge and also monitors power when charging to protect against overcharging to ensure that your battery is optimised for flight.

Intelligent Flight Modes

With an upgraded intelligent flight system, DJI’s Mavic Pro Platinum allows you to create professional aerial footage even if you have no experience piloting a drone. With a range of updated intelligent flight modes like gesture control, tap to fly options, and a brand new tripod stability mode, flying a drone has never been easier.

ActiveTrack Mode: Active Track mode uses sophisticated flight programming, and detailed detection parameters to identify and track a range of subjects. Essentially making it possible for you to touch the screen, drag a selection box around you, your friends, or even your pets and sit back as the drone executes a range of sophisticated cinematic shots.

Trace allows the drone to follow along behind or in front of a selected subject, or even to circle a moving subject.
Profile will alongside your subject to create a profile view as they move.
Spotlight keeps the camera trained on your subject allowing you to focus on flying practically anywhere to get the shot.

TapFly Mode: By simply tapping the screen you can tell the aircraft to fly towards the point on the screen where you touched, it is literally that easy. If the drone encounters any obstacles on the way to the point the on-board systems will avoid them so you can focus on getting the footage you want.
Gesture Mode: The Mavic can be controlled with a series of simple gestures so you only have to raise your hands or wave to it and the drone can track you and take pictures, making it a snap to capture to get the perfect selfie.
Tripod Mode: This mode limits the speed of the drone to 3.6kph and reduces the sensitivity of the controller to allow you to subtly change framing more accurately. It is perfect for indoors and to shoot precision camera movements.

Sports Mode

In the sports mode the Mavic’s full potential is unlocked, control stick sensitivity is enhanced and the aircraft can reach it maximum speed of 65kph giving you improved agility and a taste of drone racing. Even though it is a more manual control mode it is still possible to stop the drone immediately by simply releasing the controls, which will bring the drone to a halt.

DJI Go App

The DJI Go App is your real-time link to the aircraft that allows you to see exactly what the camera is shooting. If you want to change manual settings on the camera the app makes it possible even from the ground, giving you the flexibility to adjusting everything from the cameras shutter speed to the ISO.

Simple to Use Editor

The App features an inbuilt editor so you can use visual and audio templates to generate a video on your mobile device using the footage from your drone in a couple of easy steps to share with your friends and family.

Compatible with a DJI Accessories

As well as viewing the cameras view from your mobile screen it is also possible to connect the Mavic to the DJI Goggle which features two 1920x1080p displays with its own dedicated OcuSyc connection to deliver lag free ultra-low latency vision. This is perfect for more advanced drone pilots and unlocks the potential for taking full advantage of the Mavic manoeuvrability and 65kph speed for drone racing.
