Stunning Video Performance

The EOS C100 Mark II Digital HD Camera features an 8.3 megapixel Super 35mm Canon CMOS image sensor. Optimised for HD video capture, the Super 35mm sensor recreates the angle-of-view and depth of field equivalent to that of traditional 35mm film. A wide pixel pitch and an advanced signal read-out circuitry employed by the sensor enhances signal to noise performance and sensitivity in low light, delivering ultra-low noise results even in dimly lit environments. Supported by high signal read-out speed, the CMOS sensor also minimises rolling shutter, allowing distortion free recording of fast moving objects.

Canon DIGIC DV 4 Image Processor

The C100 Mark II employs an advanced DIGIC DV 4 Image Processor that uses a 3 channel RGB based video processing algorithm to deliver high HD image quality with enhanced colours and low false colour moiré while virtually eliminating all unwanted artefacts. Designed for the highest HD RGB processing, the DIGIC DV 4 processor supports recording at high data rates and uses proprietary circuits and architecture for low power consumption and reduced heat output.

Outstanding Low Light Sensitivity and Wide Dynamic Range

The combined performance of the camera's Canon Super 35mm CMOS image sensor and DIGIC DV 4 Image Processor achieve a very high signal-to-noise ratio yielding a maximum ISO speed of 102,400 and a wide dynamic range with up to 12 stops. An impressive ISO range of 320 to 102,000 allows shooting with low noise in extreme low-light environments without relying on large crews and complex external lighting setups.

Enhanced Autofocus Capability

The camera employs Dual Pixel CMOS AF to ensure fast, accurate and consistent Continuous AF. The sensor-based dual pixel phase-detection autofocus technology is designed to provide smooth and natural focus transitions even when the subject moves off-centre. The dual Pixel CMOS AF helps to fully exploit the creative options offered by fast lenses and shallow depth of field, and is compatible with more than 100 Canon lenses from the EF family. In addition, the camera uses contrast detection AF (with select Canon STM lenses) to detect and focus on human faces allowing you to concentrate on composing. A great feature while covering weddings or shooting interviews.

Multiple Recording Formats and Frame Rates

The EOS C100 Mark II allows simultaneous recording in both the professional format AVCHD and the web-friendly MP4 formats in a variety of bit rates (up to 28 Mbps and 35 Mbps respectively), resolutions (up to 1920 x 1080p), and frame rates (up to 59.94fps), to address practically any production need.

Dual SD Card Recording

Dual SD card slots allow simultaneous recording of the same or different formats on both cards for redundancy in case of card failure. Alternatively, relay recording is also available for automatic switching to the second slot when the first slot is full.

Continuous Recording

Perfectly adapting to your existing workflow, the Continuous recording mode allows non-stop recording in AVCHD format with IN and OUT metadata points created with each press of the start / stop recording button.

Uncompressed HDMI Output

Featuring a screw-locking HDMI connector, the C100 Mark II supports uncompressed live HD output for instant back-up high quality live view on an external monitor and easy post-production editing to compatible external devices. The signal can be embedded with SMPTE Timecode and 2:3 pull-down markers and supports Canon Log LUT.

Articulating OLED Screen

A 3.5 inch 1.23 megapixel OLED display screen offers virtually 100 per cent field of view coverage. Accurate colour rendition and improved viewing in bright sunshine allows you to precisely check colour temperature, focus, composition and exposure. An innovative hinge mechanism provides a 3-way articulation of the panel for maximum monitoring versatility. The design allows the panel to swivel up 180° to reveal the function keys and joystick, or further swivel to 270° to to deploy against the side of the camera and provide monitoring for directors. The screen tilts 100° for composing shots from difficult angles and rotates 180° to shut close and protect the OLED surface. The display screen has its own power button allowing you to switch it off to save battery when not required.

Tilting EVF

A 0.45 inch 1.23 megapixel Electronic View Finder enables easy viewing in harsh sunlight. The view finder can tilt up to 68°, increasing the flexibility and comfort when shooting at low angles. A large and detachable soft eye cup can be adjusted to provide comfort to either eye.

Professional Quality Audio

In addition to an in-built stereo microphone in the top handle, dual XLR connections offer high quality audio input for professional grade microphones. To complement the high quality video recording, the camera supports 2 channel 48 kHz linear PCM (24 Mbps) audio recording. For capture of ambient sound, reference audio or as an aid to synchronise sound, a monoaural microphone is integrated in the camera body and works only when the twin XLR inputs are not attached.

Wi-Fi Functionality

With built-in dual-band Wi-Fi (5 GHz and 2.4 GHz), the camera can wirelessly transfer files to a laptop or directly to a selected FTP server. This feature is particularly useful for transferring time-critical news video and wirelessly sending back-up files for archival purposes. In addition, wireless connectivity allows the camera to be remotely operated via a web browser using a smartphone, tablet or other mobile device.

Ergonomic Design

The EOS C100 Mark II’s lightweight, ergonomic design is comfortable to use and designed for effortless, single-operator shooting. A modular component design allows a full range of additional accessories to be attached. Its light weight magnesium alloy body and compact size reduces user fatigue and allows for "run-and-gun" style shooting.

Removable Pistol Grip and Top Handle

A detachable hand grip utilises the hot shoe mount to create an ergonomic solution for lower perspective shooting. In addition, the removable top mounted handle allows convenient carrying between shoots and integrates a tally light, stereo microphone, dual XLR audio inputs, audio level controls and a mic mount for a seamless shooting experience. The removable design allows both the pistol grip and top handle to be detached when not required for easy storage.

Focussing Aids

Both the OLED monitor and EVF can display dynamic focus assistance tools such as Peaking, Focus Magnification and Edge Monitor to allow instant focus tuning, eliminating the need of external monitors and post production editing.
