The Blackmagic Design UltraStudio Mini Recorder is an ultra-compact device that lets you record, play-back or live-stream a video and audio signal from your cameras HDMI or SDI port directly to your computer’s thunderbolt port.
Workflow Simplified
Whether you want to capture high quality video direct onto a Thunderbolt-based computer or require fast turnaround editing, UltraStudio Mini Recorder takes care of sending your footage directly to your computer. When connected to a device capable of a clean HDMI output, the Mini Recorder sends uncompressed video direct from your device to your thunderbolt enabled laptop.
High Quality Live Streaming
Capture a video feed direct from your camera with the included Media Express Software, so you can produce high quality live video streams. Live streaming is perfect for product launches, events, and for social media promotions.
Portable On-location Solution
With an interface that consists simply of a HDMI and SDI input and a thunderbolt output, the UltraStudio Mini Recorder is powered by your laptop battery, so you don’t have to worry about carrying around cables, chargers or batteries. This makes it ideal for on-location work and quick setups.
High Bandwidth for Full HD Video and Audio Capture
Built on revolutionary Thunderbolt technology, the UltraStudio Mini Recorder uses a blazing fast single cable connection to your computer with the bandwidth to handle up to 1080i 60p video. SDI and HDMI connections are also able to support up to 8 channels of embedded audio so you can capture and steam video as well as audio.
Supports 10-Bit Video and a range of Codecs
The Mini Recorder features a 1.5G-SDI and HDMI input for capturing broadcast quality 10-bit video in all SD and HD formats. In addition the unit supports a range of popular Codecs from Apple ProRes to DNxHR as well as Digital SLR and Uncompressed 8-bit and 10-bit 4:2:2.
Streaming Software Support
All Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Recorder files are open standard DPX and QuickTime format, making them compatible with popular software applications. The unit supports DaVinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer, Avid Pro Tools, Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Adobe After Effects CC, Adobe Photoshop CC as well as a host of other programs.
