The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera is a Super 16 digital film camera that is compact and lightweight enough to keep with you at all times. With a high quality magnesium alloy body measuring only 128 x 38 x 66mm and weighing only 355g, the Pocket Cinema Camera well and truly punches above its weight.
A Super 16 sized sensor delivers a large 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution video with a choice of 23.98p, 24p, 25p, 29.97p or 30p frame rates. Recordings are saved onto inexpensive and convenient SD Memory cards and written to either 10-bit Apple ProRes 422 (HQ - Quicktime) or 12-bit lossless compressed Cinema DNG files.
Recorded footage is incredibly detailed and takes on a film-like look thanks to its 13 stop super-wide dynamic range. The incredible amount of sensor data ensures optimum results and maximum detail retention when colour grading in post-production.
Its Active Micro Four Thirds mount opens up a wide range of high-quality, affordable lenses covering a variety of filming scenarios. Full electronic control of lenses is supported including focus and aperture control, allowing you to concentrate on getting the shot. The short flange distance of the MFT mount also gives you the flexibility to use commonly available adapters to mount a wide variety of lenses such as PL or Super 16 lenses.
Shooting and reviewing your footage is a pleasure on a large 3.5-inch 800x400 pixel LCD screen. Its high resolution combined with the ability to zoom into your composition on a 1:1 ratio makes it easy to ensure your shot is correctly focused. Focus peaking is also available to give you an accurate representation of exactly what elements in the frame are in focus. Additionally, camera settings are unobtrusively displayed at the bottom of the display, relaying important information such as record status, shutter angle, aperture setting, ISO, battery life and record time.
Two 1/4”-20 mounting points on the top and bottom of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera extend its versatility and take advantage of its size by supporting a wide range of accessories and mounting equipment such as car mounts, pole mounts, matte boxes and rail systems with follow focus functionality.
