The Zoom iQ5 Stereo Microphone connects to your iPhone* or iPad* to deliver professional audio recording on-the-fly. The microphone features a built-in Lightning connector and simply plugs into the charging socket of your iOS device. The size and weight of the iQ5 is kept to a minimum by requiring no batteries as power is conveniently drawn from your connected device.
The Zoom iQ5 records in a versatile mid-side recording profile, which is created via two microphones. A directional mic is combined with a bi-directional side mic to produce a true-to-life soundscape with a balanced amount of ambient noise. This dual microphone configuration enables two pre-set stereo widths of 90° or 120° to be set based on your requirements or recording scenario.
A unique rotating mechanism allows you to position the microphone according in relation to your Apple device to guarantee correct left-right stereo orientation in any situation while a dedicated headphone jack allows direct monitoring during record and playback.
Built-in gain control enables customisation for the perfect amount of gain for a wide variety of situations. Alternatively, you can use the freeZoom Handy Recorder app and the Auto Gain function to select one of three pre-set options - concert, solo or meeting and let the iQ5 determine the optimal configuration for each given situation. A Limit mode is also available to avoid input overload and ensure clear recording results across a broad range of scenarios.
When used in conjunction with the Zoom Handy Recorder app your creative potential is amplified, giving you plethora of additional functions such as customisableaudio formats, experimenting with audio effects and editing files on-the-run. The Zoom iQ5 Stereo Microphone is also compatible with most iOS apps that support audio input from an external microphone such as the standard iOS camera app.
