The Sony A7 II is the first full-frame camera to feature 5-axis in-body image stabilisation. Its compact mirrorless design is combined with the versatility of interchangeable lenses and the image quality of a full-frame sensor to create a camera that will deliver professional quality images in a compact, lightweight package.
24.3 Megapixel Full-Frame Sensor
At its heart the a7 Mark II features a 24.3 megapixel Full Frame Exmor CMOS Sensor which produces bright, true-to-life images with extremely accurate colour reproduction. The sensor utilises 117 phase-detection points and 25 contrast-detection points in conjunction with an updated algorithm to deliver an approximate 30% improvement over the original A7.
XAVC S 50Mbps Video Quality
Video recording is also available at frames rates up to 60fps in Full High Definition quality, producing immersive, crystal clear movie clips with stereo sound. It features a XAVC S codec* and a 50Mbps bit rate to deliver improved image quality post-processing flexibility.
Suits Professional Video Workflows
A range of picture profiles can also be customised and include a S-Log2 and S-Gamut pre-set to equip you with dramatically improved dynamic range. When used in conjunction with an external recording device (sold separately) professional workflow features such as timecode, user bit and REC control are also made available.
SteadyShot INSIDE 5-Axis Image Stabiliser
Its revolutionary SteadyShot INSIDE in-body image stabiliser minimises camera shake across all 5-axis of movement to equip you with an astonishing 4.5 stop advantage. This delivers the creative flexibility to shoot in low-light and night time scenarios without compromising your exposure settings or resorting to shooting in a higher ISO.
Additionally, the stabiliser also works when shooting video, equipping you with the capability of shooting handheld run-and-gun style footage with silky smooth, ultra-steady results.
Compatible with 3rd Party Lenses
The in-built stabiliser also complements the impressive range of lens adapters available for the Sony E-Mount (sold separately, allowing you to shoot with your favourite lenses across a broad range of manufacturers whilst still retaining the image stabilisation capability. It even works on full-manual lenses, opening up a whole new world of photographic and cinematic opportunities.
5 FPS Continuous Burst Mode
A powerful Bionz X image processor handles the substantial amount of information captured by the sensor, delivering a fast 5 frames per second burst rate and a extended sensitivity of ISO51200 for impressively low-noise results.
3-inch LCD and 2.4 Million-dot EVF
Pixel perfect image compositions irrespective of the lighting conditions are achieved by utilising the 3-inch 1229k-dot tilt-able LCD screen or brilliant 2.4 megapixel digital viewfinder.
Weather Sealed Magnesium Alloy Body
The lightweight magnesium alloy body features improved ergonomic comfort and 10 customisable buttons to ensure your most commonly used modes and settings are immediately available. Weather sealing has been improved to better protect its internals against dust and water.
Wi-Fi and NFC for Instant Photo Sharing
Built-in WiFi and NFC connectivity in conjunction with Sony’s free PlayMemories Camera App allows your compatible smartphone or tablet to quickly connect to the camera for instant photo sharing with your friends, family and favourite social networks.
Thanks to its quality construction, ground breaking 5-axis stabilisation and extensive lens options, the Sony A7II (ILCE7BM2) is sure to satisfy the lofty demands of seasoned professional photographers and filmmakers alike.
