The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX68 is a stylish high performance compact digital camera that sports a 5x optical zoom lens with 25mm ultra wide angle and high resolution 14.1 megapixel sensor. Power O.I.S Optical Image Stabilisation plus Intelligent ISO ensures your shots are crisp and blur-free whether you’re shooting at full zoom, in low-light, or capturing moving subjects. Sonic Speed AF and AF tracking ensure super-fast focusing on still or moving subjects. With Panasonic’s Intelligent Auto the camera itself automatically adjusts for the ideal settings, even when conditions change, meaning you don’t have to fiddle around in menus to get the best shots. The camera features 720p HD video recording, and is also compatible with the new generation of high-capacity SDXC* memory cards so you’ll have plenty of space to store your HD videos and high resolution still photos.

Movie Feature – captures High Definition video with audio 16:9 aspect ratio up to 1280 x 720p resolution at 30 frames per second. Easily upload HD videos to YouTubeTM  using the supplied PHOTOfunSTUDIO 5.0 software. Optical zoom functions during video recording. The length of recording time depends on the capacity of the SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Card*. (Up to the equivalent of 2 GB per video recording.)

* We recommend using Class 4 or higher memory cards for HD video recording.

SDHC Memory Cards and SDXC Memory Cards can be used only in equipment that is compatible with their respective formats. If the computer being used does not support SDXC Memory Cards, a message prompting you to format may appear. (Doing so will cause recorded images to be erased so do not choose to format.) If the card is not recognized, please refer to the below support site.

confused.JPG What are the features and how will they benefit you?

Dual Image Stabilisation – Power O.I.S. optical and digital technology works together to counteract blurred images due to shaky hands, subject movement, or when shooting in low-light conditions - important at full zoom where a small movement of the hand can cause a lot of movement at the other end.

Motion Detection - detects subject movement and automatically adjusts the ISO setting and shutter speed to best suit the movement and light conditions – further helps prevent blurred shots.

Lumix 25mm Ultra Wide-Angle 5x Optical Zoom Lens – cover a huge range of shooting situations from ultra wide-angle to capture more in your image - such as sweeping landscapes, tight interior shots and group shots - to telephoto where you can zoom up close to distant objects.

iA (Intelligent Auto) – Automatically adjusts your camera for a range of different shooting situations and includes such features as face detection, intelligent scene selection, intelligent ISO, motion detection, and Power O.I.S. image stabilisation - get great shots without having to fiddle around with menus, modes etc.

Face Detection AF/AE with Face Recognition - detects and recognizes faces (up to 6) and automatically optimizes the focus and exposure settings. It prevents blurry faces that happen when the camera focuses on something in front of or behind the subject, and keeps faces from appearing dark when shooting indoors or against a light source.

Venus Engine VI – features advanced noise reduction for better handling of image “noise” or grain.

2.7” LCD Screen – High resolution screen with wide viewing angle, automatic brightness adjustment and anti-reflective coating. Great for outdoors use.

Sonic Speed AF - has a maximum speed of approx. 0.25 seconds for auto focusing. You can quickly get moving subjects in focus, such as when you're shooting sports scenes.

Cosmetic Mode - allows you to take portraits with various skin colours (soft skin, natural skin, summer look) and degree of transparency of skin detail (low, standard, high) - great for defocusing wrinkles and blemishes for a smoother look.

AF Tracking/Subject Detection - Once you focus on your subject, the AF Tracking automatically tracks it until you press the shutter, keeping moving subjects in focus – great for kids, pets, sports etc.

Fast Start Up - ultra high-speed start-ups of approx. 1.06 seconds.

Less Shutter Lag - The shutter release time lag is as short as approx. 0.005 seconds, making it easy to capture sudden, spur-of-the-moment photo opportunities.

Auto Backlight Compensation - When there is strong backlighting, the background appears nice and bright, but the subject is dark. This function detects backlight conditions and compensates for it automatically.

Extended Battery Life – expect to get around 380 shots from the supplied rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery.

MEGA Burst Consecutive Shooting - lets you snap off consecutive shots at approx. 1.8 frames per second at full resolution.

High Dynamic Mode - helps to capture a scene with moderate exposure even though the scene contains both bright and dark areas together such as when there is strong sunlight and deep shadows.

Seamless Slideshows – lots of options including playing slideshows with music, slideshows based on category ie recognized faces, still or movies only; or both.
