The Nikon D7200 is a high performance 24.2 Megapixel DX-format DSLR capable of producing incredible results in any situation. With a wide range of enhancements and improvements to the camera, this rugged, compact and versatile camera is perfect for the photo enthusiast and makes an excellent secondary body for the professional photographer.
High Resolution Sensor
Featuring an impressive 24.2 Megapixel CMOS Sensor coupled with Nikon’s EXPEED 4 Image processor, the D7200 faithfully reproduces vibrant colours, subtle tonal gradations and gorgeous detail with ease. The removal of an optical low pass filter ensures that the full resolution of sharp Nikkor lenses is captured every time.
The wide dynamic range captured in photographic stills enables photographers to extend their artistic vision in post processing with customised curves and specialised treatment of shadows and highlights. The new Flat colour profile also provides videographers with much greater flexibility when colour grading.
Excellent Low Light Autofocus
A revised Autofocus sensor module easily achieves accurate focus, with 15 central cross type focus sensors and a centre point sensitivity of -3 EV for excellent low light AF performance.
Low light AF capability couples excellently with the D7200’s high ISO sensitivity range, which begins at ISO 100 and reaches up to ISO 25,600 for both stills and video – continue taking clean footage in any ambient light setting. The improved image sensor and Expeed 4 processor ensures that sharpness, detail and texture are preserved even at higher ISO settings. In stills mode, a Black and White extended ISO range can be activated, reaching up to a massive 51200 and 102400 ISO.
A bright 100% viewfinder ensures that you can accurately frame your images even in dark scenarios. Alternatively the large 3.2” LCD monitor can be utilised in live view for a real time display of the scene.
Perfect for action, sports and events
Nikon’s D7200 is able to shoot at up to 7 frames per second while in burst crop mode, and 6 fps in full resolution. An increased image buffer size lets the camera keep shooting for longer with up to 18 14-bit RAW files in one continuous burst. A rebalanced mirror mechanism minimises camera shake from mirror slap, which keeps the viewfinder stable while shooting high speed sequences and panning or tracking shots.
With a tough body design and good sealing against dust, weather and moisture, and a robust shutter tested up to 150,000 releases, the camera is perfect for action, sports and wildlife photography
Creative Lighting Options
Intelligent built in flash with commander mode capability for i-TTL ensures that you’re ready to take a picture in any lighting situation. The camera also gives access to the Nikon Creative Lighting System (CLS), when coupled with additional Nikon Speedlights. Users can setup Advanced Wireless Lighting to control light direction and shape, or utilise auto Focal Plane High-speed sync flashes for bright daylight or freezing fast moving action.
Full HD Video
Full-HD video meets the need of multimedia users with the ability to record in either DX or 1.3x crop mode. While in crop mode, the camera produces up to 1080/60p video for silky smooth footage or 24, 25 or 30p for a cinematic frame rate while in DX mode.
Nikon’s Auto ISO is able to adjust sensitivity for effortless video panning or transitioning between bright and dark scenes in the one shot, while maintaining the same depth of field and a fixed shutter speed.
For the highest fidelity files, it’s possible to record uncompressed footage directly to an external recorder via an optional HDMI cable.
In-camera Time-lapse Movies
Explore new forms of creative expression with the in-camera time-lapse function. Users are able to produce beautifully rendered time-lapse movies with smooth exposure transitions between dark and bright settings. Exposure smoothing is also available in interval timer photography mode.
Built-in NFC and WiFi make it easy to upload footage to smart devices for further refinement or to share with friends and family on your favourite social networks. The Nikon D7200 D-SLR can also be controlled via Nikon’s Wireless Mobile Utility on a smartphone or tablet acting as a remote shutter release, opening up a world of new perspectives and original camera placements.
