The Laowa Magic Shift Converter is an adapter compatible with the Full frame Laowa 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D lens in either the Canon or Nikon mount. The converter uses sophisticated optics and a perspective shifting design to provide the ability to straighten vertical lines in your composition without the risk of vignetting. Perfectly suited for architecture, interior, and cityscape photography the lens provides a +/- 10mm shift ability that allows you to correct the perspective of your shots.
Correct Vertical Lines
Great for shooting architecture and outdoor scenes, the Magic shift can eliminate perspective distortion that occurs from using a low angle perspective of a large subject. Using the converter with its +/-10mm shift capability allows you to aim your camera flat to reduce any low angle perspective warp and then shift the lens to achieve the composition you desire.
Designed for Sony E-Mount Cameras
The Magic Shift Converter is designed to work with Sony Full Frame E-mount cameras and the Laowa 12 mm f/2.8 Zero-D lens in particular. The converter may also work with ultra-wide angle lenses from other manufacturers but Laowa have fine-tuned it to work the best with their 12mm ultra-wide lens.
Sophisticated Optics for Vignette-free Results
With five elements in four groups including two pieces of extra refractive glass, the Magic shift converter can control the chromatic aberrations and distortions commonly found with ultra-wide angle lenses. The correction has minimal impact on image quality and does not display any signs of vignetting even when maximum shift is being used.
Changes Lens Focal Length and Aperture
Due to the design of the tilt shift adapter the focal length of the lens increases by 1.4x meaning that the 12mm Laowa becomes the equivalent of a 17mm lens. Aperture is also affected with the lens brightness decreasing by one stop, essentially turning the f/2.8 lens into a f/4 lens.
Camera Rotates Full Circle
The Laowa Magic Shift Converter (MSC) can also be rotated 360° allowing you to shoot in both horizontal and portrait orientation and quickly adjust your composition to suit your subject.
